Can anyone solve the Bublik's Cube?

Monfils could not solve the Bublik's Cube!

Seriously though, guy is playing some good ball lately. When he is focused he does not have too many weaknesses.

I watched his thrashing of an ‘injured’ Pouille in the first round of Australia a few years back. Extremely talented, has made public statements about only playing for the money, but at least in the Monfils match he showed a lot of Tsitsipas like passion self-harming with the racquet and looking at his box with affirmation that he was going to take this one down.

Wonderful play again today
Yeah, lots of great shots, lots of variety. It's a shame he (claims that he) doesn't enjoy it more, but either way it doesn't seem to affect his creativity around the court.

After seeing today's match I was actually going to start a thread along the lines of "Bring out the bubbly to celebrate Bublik", but we already had "Can anyone solve the Bubliks Cube". Pretty good :)

I saw the other day in Hamburg he underhand aced Garin and Garin cried like a toddler to the umpire how he wasn't ready etc. Umpire was like, 'everyone else saw it coming, why not you?' lol

That was HILARIOUS - he looked down as he did it :-D

question is will he cross the Bublikon and fully commit to tennis?

I agree it's not looking good! Still a chance to stage a comeback, but two sets and a break down (on a double fault no less) is definitely a bit of a climb back!

Agreed. This made me lose all respect for Garin.

After getting aced with this underarm serve he complained to the chair forever how he wasn't ready. In truth he was completely ready with his return stance set, just didn't react to the ball.

Hope we see more underarm serves on tour.
That’s a potentially odiferous proposition. However, I’m all for the underhanded serve.

I’m curious...is this a U.S vs the world difference of expression? In every sport here we refer to the “Granny” motion of throwing as the underhanded style.

I used the term underarm since "underhanded" has such a negative, cheating type connotation.

I guess someone is screwed using either term. I just hope we see more of it.

I want to see a pro hit one of those cheesy trick shots that guy shows in shorts on Tennis Channel

Without the closing “ed” the word has zero negative connotations. Webster’s says an underhand serve or throw is a movement in which the hand remains below shoulder level.

Underhand can also be used to delineate the grip a lifter will use on a barbell to work his lats as opposed to using the overhand grip to work the upper back, traps and rhomboids.

Yeah I think underhand is the best way to phrase it. I'd love to see someone do it against Rafa or Thiem since they return from the back wall.

Garin is pathetic!
He is a solid player, boring at best but gets the job done so sadly we prob would see more of him
since he even had enough parental backing to train at the Rafa Academy just after junior success.

For me it just takes one incident to show how pathetic and unfair the real character can be
when they cannot accept when too good is just too good but players like Fedal do this often
just not so obvious but they cannot accept so many good shots against them.

I guess thats why Garin is also such a good competitor, Bublik should have just said whats
you problem and thrashed him but is just too soft inside. If only Bublik would learn who
controls the world and what money really is then that would be the only way he could
find it inside to stop fooling around.

Funny he took out Monfool who basically wrote the career steps Kygs and Bublik are now foollowing.

Mackenzie McDonald couldn't solve Bublik's cube in St. Petersburg. Surprisingly (?) close match though, 2-6 7-6(2) 6-4.

Bublik will try for his 1st tourney win tomorrow! His sf win over Albot today was...interesting.

Can Popryn solve the Bublik's cube tomorrow?o_O

lmao at Pooplick getting phucked 6-0 6-2 by Popyrin while winning a grand total of 1 return point. What a legendary fail.
This guy really doesn't want to win. Winning matches just happens to him... sometimes.
Bublik doesn't care he hates tennis anyway so it's a win for him

Sinner solved the Bublik's cube. Solution: 7-6(5) 6-4.

Based on the highlights both guys were playing amazing. Bublik looks very fit, and much more active footwork than I remember. He even seemed to enjoy himself a bit. Amazing shotmaking all around, worth a watch.
