Yonex SHT-305 vs. SHT-304

I have to get new shoes now, and I'm interested in trying out the Yonexes. Right now, the 304 is 20 dollars cheaper than the 305s. Is it worth it to the 305? I've heard the older model is lighter and more agile, while the new ones are more durable, albeit a little heavier (still classified as light.) How much more durable is the 305, especially in the toe guard? Would it be close enough to just save the money and get the 304? (the 304 looks better imo)

I have used both the 304 and 305, in fact I am on my second pair of 305s and it is definitely worth the price. Durability and stability is better in the 305; the 304 is a good shoe, but you will wear through them faster.

Sorry, but could you expand on that? How much faster would the 304s wear out compared to the 305s? It's probably worth the extra 20, but is there a warranty on the 305? *and If you could, could you (or anyone) compare it to the Barricade IV?* Thanks.

I went from the Barricade IV to the Yonex 304 and have since bought the 305. I like the 304 better and I can't tell much difference in how fast they wear. The 304 was the most comfortable shoe so far and I have never gotten this much support out of such a light shoe. I feel more energy and spring in my step. The 305 is a nice shoe but feels tighter in the area just above the toe and not quite as cushioned.

The IV was better than the III but the support just doesn't last for me. The shoe still looks good but support goes very quickly. They feel much too heavy to.

I'll be ready for another shoe in another month or two and will probably get the 304 again. The only other interest might be to try the Prince MV4, MS4 or the Asics Gel Resolution but they have a long way to go to match up with the Yonex 304.

There is no warranty on the 305's.

the 304 is lighter, softer, a bit wider in the forefoot, and has better cushioning then the 305
the 305 is a bit stiffer, and has better lateral support
they are both great shoes, but i like the 304 better

neither is a very durable shoe, but for the comfort, and light weight, i think it's a good trade off......

I was wondering if the yonex sht-305 (blue/navy version, see http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageMSYONEX-Y305CL.html) is suitable for playing on artificially grass. The outsole pattern seems like a omnicourt design.
And also a question about the sizing of Yonex shoes. What size do i need? My size for Asics shoes is 10.5 (US).

Any advices are welcome.

Been there done that with the Prince MC4 and T9....The Yonex 304 are better than both. My knees tell me that for sure. The Addidas BIII are good but very clunky. Agreed that the 304 are better for wider feet than the 305. 305 offer more lateral but the 304 is pretty good....IU play with the 305 clay version on hardcourt and clay. They last longer than the 304. They both offer great cushioning(very similar). 305 are slightly narrow than the 304.

Whenever I see Yonex SHT I laugh. I mean seriously, didn't they condsider that it looks like Yonex Sh1t? Why not introduce the FCK, BTCH, and the BSTRD? I'm sure that they're fine shoes, but the name is just outrageous!

I believe the SHT name was thought up in Japan and it probably didn't occur to them that it was so similar to a bad word in English. The Japanese word for sh*t is 糞　(kuso). As you can see there are no similarities there.

I think the name SHT is taken from SH(shoe) and T(tennis) because the Yonex badminton shoe models are called SHB. Yeah it might read like sh*t but hey it IS the sh*t lol. 304s are awesome btw. I got one after using Barricades for 4 years.

Can't speak to the 304s or 305s specifically, but the SHT 298s were about 1/2 to a full size larger than other shoes.

I wear 10.5 and and don't find that the 304 or 305's run larger. I just recently got a pair of the 304R and love them. There is very little difference in the 304 & the 304R so you might want to go with the 10.5 in the 304R.

i usually wear 9.5 and had to go to 9's in the 304's. they do fit a little on the larger side

There is less than an ounce difference and the stability is fine. I love the shoe.

I have 105, 304 and 305.
I wear two firsts when I learn tennis. Feeding balls and rallying with my pupils.
Confortable, stable and I enjoy them.
But when I play hard with my sons, friends and competition pupils I wear my 305.
I feel myself surer when running and braking.
I have a Titanimum hip and they three are soft enough to define them like joint friendly.
