Zverev's future

He played well but is still slamless. Do you think he will be mentally stronger or fall apart? Tokyo's aura is gone.
I'd say a wildcard. Also did his brother comment on Sascha's loss? They both seem MIA.
Winning ATPs will be nice but another chance is AO and it seems far away and it's unlikely, RG- even more unlikely, Wimbledon- the same.
It might turn out that Tsisipas will have a greater run in the next months.
(Mental aspect of the game is of great interest of mine)

Tough to say. Hes been such a mug against top guys in a best of 5. The pressure may keep mounting and he may crack and disappear. Or he may dominate once Djoker gets too old and/or stops caring. These kids are too erratic to figure out. He could have beat Djoker than laid an egg in the final.

I mean the match with Novak last night was decided by some key points. I think people are overreacting. He has made big strides recently and is entering his prime.
Novak hit a lot a key points on the line and some of Zevs were barely out. That's what he should think. He was close.

I agree. He knows i was close but the pressure and attention he got was too much. Now we'll see how he holds up mentally. Tokyo gave him confidence that might be gone. Is he a good fit for AO and RG? I guess RG - not.

People always overreact on this forum lol. It's all or nothing.
When Nadal won RG last year people were wondering if he'd get 25 or 30 slams and Djokovic was never going to win a slam ever again.
This year Djokovic beats Nadal and wins RG and I read the exact opposite. Slam race over, Nadal never winning a slam again, Djokovic will probably win 30.

Zverer wins the Olympics and people were already predicting he would win every Masters, every slams and dominate the Tour for years to come.
This kind of thread was to be expected. He loses in 5 sets to the world number #1 in one of the best matches of the year, of course now he is DONE, over, burried, finished, kaput, bye-bye. Maybe never winning a tennis match ever again.

If he managed to beat Djokovic yesterday, these same people would wonder if he'll win 10 or 20 slams. lol

Yes this forum. Also too much pressure on him. Btw, hope you're right and Rafa is not done!
