Rafa & Sponsor - Amstel/Heineken N.V.

Rafa had a chat over a beer with two fans, who won the contest organized by Amstel on social networks.
The contestants had to answer the question: "What would you talk about with Rafa, if you met him?" The two fans gave the most ingenious answers.

Plazadeportivo, November 11, 2021:
Excerpts, translated from Spanish via Google:
¤¤ Amstel brings Rafa Nadal closer to his followers to experience a moment as special as sharing a beer.

...Just a few weeks ago, José Javier García and Luís Díaz would have imagined little that they were going to take an Amstel Oro 0.0 [a non-alcoholic beer] with Rafa Nadal, an idol for them and a benchmark in world sport.
Both are the winners of a contest organized by the brewery so that two followers of the Spanish tennis player would have the luck to meet him at the Rafa Nadal Academy. A meeting that follows the very Spanish custom of sharing a chat over a beer, something that has been possible thanks to the close and relaxed character of the Amstel ambassador [Rafa Nadal].

Nadal has answered the questions of both winners ...
"I spent a pleasant time with José Javier and Luis. In addition to letting them see the [academy] facilities and what we do, we had a good time and I saw the passion they have for tennis. We spent a great time and had a beer together, talking about sports", declared the tennis player.

José Javier García from Bilbao and Luis Díaz from Córdoba participated along with thousands of other applicants in a contest organized by Amstel through their profiles on social networks.

Díaz made his candidacy stand out thanks to the adaptation he made of the lyrics of a popular song. A display of ingenuity that revealed his detailed knowledge of Nadal's sporting career. "I have followed him since 2003, I have been able to see some of his matches live, I am passionate about his sports career and, above all, the character that makes him an example inside and outside the competition," said the Cordovan.

An opinion shared by the other winner of the contest, who highlights Rafa's values, his elegance when it comes to knowing how to win, but also when he loses. "He is capable of uniting an entire country, he has become a legend, even for those who are not sports lovers," says García. His candidacy for the contest stood out because he wondered about Nadal's interests when he is off the track, when he has time to rest between competitions or is recovering from an injury. A curiosity that is surely shared by many of the Spaniards who choose him as the favorite, along with other personalities such as Penélope Cruz, in the polls about who they would have a beer with.

Nadal's spirit of improvement and serenity have led him to be an ambassador of responsible consumption with one of the HEINEKEN family brands, within his strategy 'Brindando por un Mundo Mejor' (Brew a Better World) that works, among other issues, to promote a style active and healthy lifestyle, offering more choices for consumers within the non-alcoholic category. ¤¤.

TENNIS SPORTS INDUSTRY
The rebound of Spanish tennis: grows 15% in one year
EFEMadrid12 Nov 2021

Spanish tennis rebounds after the pandemic. In just one year, licenses have grown 15% to 80,318, a level it has not had since 2016. Its status as an outdoor sport with distance and no contact catapults it. At the same time, it is a tourist attraction with the magnet of Rafa Nadal and his academy.

Some 3 million people play tennis in Spain, according to calculations by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET), but that hobby has also grown in terms of licenses, which have gone from 70,151 in September 2020 to 80,318 at the end of September 2021.

"It is a great joy to have increased so much in the number of licenses, taking into account that to be able to practice our sport it is not essential to have a license, as it is the case with other sports such as golf or hunting. We have always had much more practitioners than of licenses ", indicates to EFE the president of the RFET, Miguel Díaz Román.

Besides being thrilled to receive this award, I am grateful to be able to share with all of you such a special night and see live performances of so many artists whom I admire a lot and usually can only listen to or watch them on TV,” Rafa said.
"After two extremely tough years for all of us, being able to enjoy a night like this is the nicest thing that could happen to us, " he added, referring to the months of the pandemic. [Sources: Majorca Daily Bulletin, Diario de Mallorca]

Man,

his head's going to explode very soon from all this attention...
Nah, this is just a normal week for him, especially in November and December when festivities can be scheduled for him while he's off tour. So many people in the tennis world don't know and won't acknowledge the incredible love and fame between him and his Spanish fans. They're making up awards now to give him because they've run out of regular annual honours to bestow upon him. And yet he remains so humble and such a lovely man.

With all due respect, he needs to start having babies. Neither he or his wife are getting any younger.
No point having babies early if you only want to have a couple.
And once you start having babies, you won't have time to play video games (unless its with them), so why rush?
Don't waste your life on babies.

More about celebrating the 10th anniversary of Rafa's foundation at the Perez Llorca auditorium in Madrid on Wednesday:

Today in 24, November 2021:
(Translated from Spanish via Google)
¤¤ Nadal: “We create opportunities trough sports and education”

The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, winner of twenty Grand Slam tournaments, assured this Wednesday that the goals they had set with his Foundation, which activity began eleven years ago, have been fulfilled, and highlighted the importance of “creating illusions and opportunities through sports and education” for children and young people.

Nadal revealed that the reason for the creation of the Foundation eleven years ago was “to try to help and give back to society all the luck we have had and how life has treated us. “I have always tried to join events and collaborations to raise funds from different organizations, and at home I had the example in my mother, whom I always saw her help by contributing as much as possible. We wanted to allocate our efforts to projects that motivated us and that, we believed, we could have added value to,“ he said.

Long-term projects have a more powerful impact on society and I believe that the goals in these years have been met,“ he said.

Nadal, who during his speech cited as examples the project carried out in Anantapour (India) together with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and the Foundation's center in Palma (the capital of Mallorca), recalled that more than seven thousand people have benefited through this commitment to society . The Mallorcan tennis player assured that from the Foundation “the most important thing is not to take steps back because there is a great responsibility, which is to always offer the best quality service. Our goal is to reach more and more people, in our case young people and children, but each new foundation's center must be maintained over time with the quality it requires,“ he said.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation is involved in four projects around the world, with sport and education as central axes of its development. One of the projects that the Rafa Nadal Foundation has is called ‘NETS’ (Nadal Education Tennis School), where they offer tennis, computer and English classes to around 250 boys and girls a year in Anantapur, South India, and in which a total of more than 1,900 children have participated [since 2010}. Another project is ‘More than tennis’ aimed at athletes with intellectual disabilities who train and play tennis in twenty schools throughout Spain, with 1,778 beneficiaries. ‘Play and study’ is a scholarship project to promote the sports and educational talent of young people who want to study at universities in the United States and which has benefited 53 boys and 62 girls.

Also, the Rafa Nadal Foundation centers help minors and families in vulnerable situations through the sports, educational and psychosocial fields. At the moment there are two in Mallorca and Valencia, with 1,668 beneficiaries, but a new one is scheduled to open in the short term in Madrid, in the Usera neighborhood, according to the Foundation’s director, Xisca Perelló.

“This anniversary, not counting the pandemic, we celebrate ten years at a difficult time because 31% of minors in Spain are at risk of exclusion and families are finding it increasingly difficult to provide complementary training. We want to offer a safe environment, each and every one of the children has potential, and we want to help them achieve what they set out to do,“ said Xisca. “Our commitment is long-term and we will work with the same enthusiasm and will with which we have been doing it these years,” said the director of the Foundation [Xisca], who revealed that the foundation recently signed a partnership agreement with UNESCO to work towards common goals. ¤¤
