I am trying to decide whether to switch to the weisscannon silverstring or the signum pro plasma pure, because luxilon is just too expensive at 250 a reel. any comments and preferences are appreciated. thanks

I'm not familiar with that particular Signum string. I don't see a problem with switching to Weiss Cannon Silverstring, and I think it would be a wise move.

The Silverstring is a superior performing string compared to the Plasma Pure. Better feel, better power, holds playability longer. It is worth the few extra $$ in my opinion.

Tried WeisCANNON Silverstring 1.2mm on my 001 90 at 62/60 and I didn't like it very much; no bite and the string was very flimsey, not solid at all. I cut it out after 3 or so hours.

Cyberflash 1.25, SPPP 1.23 were much better I think. And right now I'm on Kbaum Competition 1.2, and it's better than Silverstring in every way.

what did you like about the competition so much?

Competition is just a real nice co-poly like SPPP but softer and it has a feel approaching multis. Good power, control, spin and pretty good touch at net.

I haven't tried many 1.2mm strings and I was expecting it to be less solid compared to fatter gauges, but it hasn't been the case with the Competition.

Competition will be the first ever string reel I will buy(haven't decided which gauge yet).
