haha "good also"

yeah way better than klahn at a way younger age...wouldn't be surprised if he was top 20 by klahn's age

i will say, as much as i hate to give fedace an inch, didnt think klahn was this good

querrey definitely looks like he's getting frustrated, could be very interesting if klahn takes this set

LOL Klahn is challenging, unlike the other people that lack experience and have never used the challenge system before

When Querreys bad hes really bad, most of the top 100 could beat him playing this kind of stuff, not to take anything away from Klahn im very impressed with his game.

don't think id give klahn the edge over dyoung, harrison, or smyzcek as good as he's playing now...3/10 against each of those guys maybe

Klahn has the game and the ability to challenge and even beat these guys. He doesn't have the experience playing with pros, but he has progressed immensely over the past year. I am very impressed actually. With more pro matches experience, he would no doubt be a top 100 or better.

like i said, he'd probably beat them a few times out of ten, yes

will he ever be top 100...very unlikely...and certainly not "no doubt"...somdev from uva, arguably one of the most impressive college players of the last few decades, isn't cracking that mark right now

also, this match is over, we'll see if he ever gets back to the us open main draw

mikej, glad to see we're having a healthy discussion, even though we disagree on this. Maybe I shouldn't have said klahn can be top 100 for sure. not now for sure, he needs to be more consistent but I still believe he has the game for it.

wouldn't be the craziest thing that's ever happened if he does

harrison just held for the 14th straight time, looking like the big guy's gonna need to win a couple more tb's to get past this kid (and he has a pretty reasonable draw, if he wins...not to get ahead of myself too much, but maybe this could be a big week for him)

Well, whatever happens, Klahn should be proud of the way he played today. He has a bright future ahead of him in this game.

klahn is just ripping winners from all over the court. no matter what happens, he should be proud of the way he has played.

Some observations from the peanut gallery ...

Klahn played well. I saw some of the match and his forehand is obviously his big weapon. Querry had problems with it when it was on. Klahn's backhand needs work. When Querry started working his backhand over ... he took charge.

I also didn't see Klahn clocking any at 135 mph! Querry yes, Klahn no. The fastest serve I saw from him was 120 with most first serves between 100 and 115 (a few high 90's with spin). To his credit, he moved the ball around well on his serve.

very good match from klahn. After a first very erratic set, he really stood his ground against querrey.

Well, I have to admit I was impressed by Klahn. Obviously, he's a bit uneven in his abilities, particularly on his BH side, but he acquitted himself well. I didn't expect it to be that close though I didn't think Querry played that well.

The real story has to be Ryan Harrison though!

brad is now cramping.... bad news

i think Brad would have pulled this one out if it wasn't for the cramps. he was playing that well. :) I have to go and console him now and pump him up for the NCAA team title next year.:)

Fedace, where have you been? Were you at the USO to follow the match?

In any case, Brad can be proud of the way he played. Too many unforced errors only due to the lack of experience at this level. He'll be killer this year in the Pac 10 and NCAA.

damn couldnt see the match, I was in practice, does some1 know a place for me to see it?

try the player on the uso website, I've heard you can go to the court and rewind back to the beginning of the day. Haven't tried it myself so I don't know if that's really true.

I'm watching Sock play, I'm not too impressed so far. He got spanked 6-1 by Chiudinelli (what's his ranking?). Klahn looked a lot more impressive today.

You can't compare Sock to Klahn. Sock is just a Junior. Klahn is more experienced with NCAA titles behind him. Klahn would beat Sock 6-2 6-1.
