Nike CB 1.3 Customization Project

So I was looking at my Nadal 09 FO CB 1.3's (yes, the pink ones) a few days ago and I haven't worn them in over a month even though I bought them a couple months before that. Rather than ditch them because I had no desire to throw them away I've decided to try an experiment to custom mold a shoe I've always wanted but is unavailable. The White/Green Spark CB 1.3's from Nadal's Winter 2009.. or if this helps more, it's these shoes:

I've currently just finished the first of what I think will probably end up being many phases to finishing this project but when it's done it will be sooooooo worth the time and effort.

Here's what I've accomplished thus far:

If any of you all have any thoughts or suggestions as far as paints for the black swoosh or where I can find something that will work that's close to the green spark color let me know!

the biggest obstacle is that i'm gonna have to figure out a way to get in between the white dots to get the remaining charcoal out. I'm using Babolat white stencil ink and that is working fairly well... it only took 6 coats and then i'll likely go over it all when i'm done with some sort of protective something or other. Should be able to work on it a lot more this weekend.

Going to go get some colorbond this weekend, should have pics up on saturday of the new shoes, can't wait to show you all! If this goes well I'm going to consider custom painting a pair of my Propulse 2's next.

Just finished the shoes, they look so awesome, will put pics up later on in the week. I used Rust-Oleum that I found at my local home depot... I will find out if this worked well or not tomorrow when I go out and play in these awesome looking kicks.. if all goes well my next project is the Nadal AO 09 Day and Night Breath Cages.

Great! I hope they last and anticipate the pics :)

Yeah I'd put pics up now but can't find my camera, they look so sick. Now all I've got to do is find some way to get the bull logo on the back of the left shoe and "RAFA" on the back of the right shoe and then it's done.

Well it's raining here today on the east coast... I walked outside in my customized Green CB 1.3's but couldn't play tennis... good news is, rain is not going to wash the paint off, nor did it come off when i scratched at it... will put up pics soon.

Stencil ink comes off though...

I tried a brand of Rust-O-Leum and it didn't turn out well when I took them out into the rain. I'm going to make sure to get a pair of white cb 1.3's in order to get a better result. I am going to make this work! I am going to do this project as well as the AO 09 day cages at the same time. If anyone knows where I can get a pair of black cages for the night shoes let me know!

Should be able to update this in 2-3 weeks, sorry for the delay everyone!
