Another that used to,but change to Alu power main/and continue with Nat gut in crosses.

And apologize in advance if I try to sound or look like "i know everything". I was just obsess to know like the OP about this info, and got my hand with some of the Masters logs and find out all that info.

What interest me as a Yonex user is that in the log for some of the Yonex pro players appear hybrids with poly and "yonex-gut".

Yes, the Williams use full bed. The sources belong to the Wilson stringers in the Baiardo website.

If you atre a member of the USRSA you can access the section on their web site of the pro equipment logs, and you will see that both the William sisters have used Wilson nat. gut for both mains and cross strings since 2003.The site even breaks it down to each event that they used the strings for as well as the tensions used.

I have seen several stringer spec sheets posted on the web indicating the Williams sisters use gut. But, they string it very tightly around 70 lbs. Sampras also used gut string really tight - 70-75 lbs. I think the older generation strung so tightly to get some of the attributes of poly - a stiff string bed that doesn't move much at impact or at least moves in "unison" at impact. Since poly strings have become so prevalent, you see a lot less gut. But, I think a gut hybrid with poly plays great myself.

Venus has hers strung typically at 68/68, and Serena at 66/66 lbs.

Hola PP, In the Miami Open 2009 she did 29kg (64 pounds) and then went down to 28kg (62 pounds)

Thats awesome. I have wondered what gut in the mains would be like in a babolat crossed with a poly, and she is playing full gut right at 62#s in a powerful, "poly" racquet...very interesting!
