U.S. Prestige Pro or EU Prestige Pro 600

Hi, everyone - new poster, and great site!

Coming back to tennis after many years and have determined that I'm more of classic racquet guy - namely, a prestige guy. I have searched the board as to this question but wanted to verify that my reading is correct in that the two aforementioned racquets are highly similar if not indeed one and the same. To this end, got a US PP for a great price (in great quality) but also have the opportunity to purchase the latter for almost twice the cost. Thus, although the PP 600 is a legendary racquet, I'm not sure its worth if the US PP is held in similar regard and has comparable cachet. Btw, I'll likely stick to my Prestige 600 (with new grommets and vs gut) as my playing stick regardless.

Appreciate your thoughts and guidance!

They felt identical to me. Just that the euro version has higher quality paintjob imho. Prestige 600 is similar too, can't go wrong with any of them.

Thank you - thought the paint job was the same on the two (in that they are different than the all brown EU PP). Perhaps the red/brown convergence starts differently? Noticed your posts previously - am I fooling myself with these racquets in comparison to the IG Mid - in that these are noticeably superior to the modern version? Obviously a new racquet would be easier to use and less worrisome in terms of scuffs, etc. (Ie removing the fear of damaging a classic in play) but fear that they are close although not quite there.

Also, does anyone know about the composition of the two (same graphite quality and twaron blend)?

Also interested in recommended string /tension settings or the PP - currently trying VS gut at 62 on my Prestige 600. ( very nice control and no power issues). Thanks.

Same Graphite and Twaron.......

Thanks - so if you were to mothball one and play with the other, which would you chose to play?

Also, interested in your thoughts (in particular) as to the playability of these older prestige models in comparison to the new variants - understand the general accessibility of the new models is an advantage and that some are closer to the originals, but are they indeed there if not better than these 15/20 year old racquets. Thanks in advance.

The IG Prestige Mid is the closest racquet I have used to the originals. The IG Prestige Mid is a little stiffer and has a crisper feel.

Thank you VS - so if you were going to save the rarer, more special one between the US PP or the Austrian PP600 (presuming equal condition) and play with the other - which would you save? Or are they similar enough to a P600 (green) that I should just continue with that one? Thanks!
