I like Gulbis, but people were hyping him during Indian wells.

I was hyped to see him play, thinking he was close to prime Safin.

He wasn't, he looked good, but nothing special


Plus gulbis on Clay is not as effective as hard courts.

In this world, no one loses any matches. Every one either wins or they beat themselves.

My friend , who plays futures and challengers , also thinks so, just the sad fact remains he does not earn much and may have to join a far away tennis club to teach old ladies after a couple of years.

Hey I like le Monfils. Anyone who can wipe that smirk off Berdbrain's face is alright in my books. Gael seems to have settled down a bit. His on court antics used to be a little over the top but I think he's more focused now. It'll be a good match.

no my logic is spot on. i knew you were black because its the whole reverse racism thing where you think any black guy has superior genetics vs a white guy

you might be right or you might not, as i have not studied this area. i just know your kind who thinks you're better then someone else because of genetics

Problem with Monfils is that he's just a journey man. He plays tennis maybe 2-3 months of the year. He doesn't even have a coach.

One day he can beat a top 10 player, then the next day he's losing to a ranked 500 guy (which he actually did not long ago).

It's probably too late for him to go pro now...

Well, I guess black people do have some genetic advantage, it can't be a coincidence that there are so many successful black athletes in track and field. But whatever that genetic advantage is, it obviously doesn't help you that much in tennis.
And I only watched the highlights so can't say too much but I take back what I said earlier about him having bad technique. It just looks a little careless and goofy but his arm is as loose as uncooked spaghetti (which is a good thing) and he hits the ball well. You can't beat Berdych with bad technique, especially not with the style of play that Monfils has where you mostly have long baseline rallies.

First of all he is french and they don't know the meaning of bad technique as with most sports good technique is what they pride themselves on with flair and artistry. Monfils is just lazy and unmotivated at times but when he's up for it can give anyone a game.

I do agree that Genetics dont do much in tennis, But he is the #1 Genetically gifted Atp player in my eyes

Monfils has really good technique actually, very solid on both the forehand and backhand. Certainly more so than players like Murray (weak *** forehand that will never truly be a great shot) and Ferrer (ditto for his backhand). And Gael has a massive and accurate serve to boot. When you add in his amazing athletic ability and good touch and feel for the ball (the guy volleys really well when he wants to) you can see why people think this is a guy who probably should be contending for masters and majors. He fails because he doesn't take tennis seriously most of the time and plays to the crowd, not to win.

To be fair, you do come across as a black supremacist type, claiming that Monfils has the sickest genetics ever, and he must have, because he's black, then it turns out you're black as well, so obviously you have a motive to believe that your people are naturally the sickest athletes ever.
