So it looks like the problem with Federer has not been his racquet all along like so many here think it is. It's been with his RF line of shirts! He lost the first set wearing his RF shirt and then switched to a non-RF regular Nike shirt after that and look what happened. :shock: :)

I think Fed needs to hit with a larger shirt size. The smediums he typically wears look too constricting. Obviously a larger shirt size would help him complete against the modern game.

I think you're right. The tight RF shirts are too small and constricting and making him shank the ball. A larger shirt would be more forgiving and give him more margin for error and allow him to swing more freely for more power. :)

I know you're joking, but that actually makes a lot of sense to me.
I used to be a big fan of Andy Roddick's XXL shirts.

There's no way this was an accident. Like his blacked-out frame when clothing/racquets look different to the norm it is deliberate. He wore non-retail colourway shoes for most of the Aussie Open, basically to promote Nike ID.

Perhaps they want to promote the other range.

Ahahah, My Friend I do enjoy your posts. So, he should go back to his more hip 2005 style maybe ( well, I personally think the AO 2005 shirt Fed wore - the blue w/white shaded back ) was one of the most beautiful line Fed ever wore.

We might just have a little fun w/the board and say maybe he should go back to his old setup - ProStaff 85 , Ponytail+Bandana , Loose Nike shirts w/black rounded cutouts , more S & V ? What do u say BP ? Lets screw w/the board. lol ?

The sides of the current "RF" polos made him look like he had a sweatspot around the armpits.

The dark blue polo was meant to be worn at some point (i.e. it was ready to be used, in his bag). I guess Nike use a smaller tournament to promote other stuff (just like the sweater vest he wore during one set in Hamburg).
They can't do that in M1000 or Slams where the RF outfits have to be worn and seen.

"Shanghai" grey/red polo is meant to be worn at least for the Shanghai and Paris M1000.
But maybe he's free to wear what he want for 250 and 500 tournaments (switching polo, or go back to a previous one as he did for Rotterdam and Abu Dhabi in 2012 with the black top, worn earlier in Doha).

I would much rather have the grey shirt he's wearing now over that Gold-necked travesty!
I personally think the 2013 WTF shirt is the worst shirt i've seen Nike release in a while.

gold and blue polo does not looks so bad, kind of reminds me of his old wim polos. the red polo that he has for right now though is not so great.

Ok I think I know why he's wearing that shirt. I'm guessing he did away with the Shanghai outfit because he was disgusted and annoyed. Brought the WTF outfit to Basel. Nike told him to wear that only in the WTF because of promotions and what not and Fed decided to wear this for the rest of the tournament.

If you look at this shirt, he has the RF logo in the side and the bandana and sweatband is black where as last week the shirt was too big and the bandana and sweatshirt matched his WTF outfit.

I will quote myself on this one,it's obvious!
Now nike have buckled down and tailored the shirt
to his normal size and details...
either he is getting picky like haas or he really disliked the other shirt

I guess the new wristband is "armory blue" too, but not sure, as it looks a little bit darker. Maybe an older "armory navy" from USO gears.
