Djokovic Fans: Predict the Following

It's December. It's the off-season. The time when our World No. 1 and undisputed heavyweight champion is engaged either with his family, or in a focused training block, or both, and the rest of the tour is playing in some random exhos :D

Novak Djokovic has recorded the best season of his career in 2015 - and I believe he's not done yet. So, with this in mind, I invite you all to predict as many of the following things he'll achieve in his career as you feel comfortable with and we can return to this thread at a future date!

1. Predict his final Slam Tally
2. Predict his Slam Distribution
3. Predict his exact Last Slam Victory (e.g. "Slam Name", "Year")
4. Predict his final Masters Tally
5. Predict his total number of Weeks at Number 1
6. Predict the last "Tier 1" tournament he participates in before retiring
7. Predict his Total Match Wins

My attempt:

1. Slam Tally = 15
2. Slam Distribution = 7 x AO, 1 x RG, 4 x Wimbledon, 3 x US
3. Last Slam Victory = Australian Open - 2019
4. Masters Tally = 38
5. Weeks at Number 1 = 265
6. Last Tier 1 Tournament Participation = World Tour Finals - 2020
7. Total Match Wins = 1040

I'll take the bait:p

1. Slam Tally = 18:D
2. Slam Distribution = 7 x AO, 3 x RG, 4 x Wimbledon, 4 x US
3. Last Slam Victory = USO - 2019
4. Masters Tally = 34
5. Weeks at Number 1 = 271
6. Last Tier 1 Tournament Participation = World Tour Finals - 2020
7. Total Match Wins = 1050

On a serious note, now it seems that only sky is a limit for Novak, but I would be really happy with any slam title that he would be able to catch:p in the future.

I might even agree on the other three you predicted, but the bolded part... Come on.

If you were serious with your own prediction, sorry for taking it as a joke. :D
Good. Beacause I was joking.
Truth is I think we should all try to hide and keep low profile.

It's hard to restrain oneself in predictions when one is wishful, so I'll do both a conservative and a "reach" estimate. ;)

Conservate (Reach)

1. Slam Tally = 13 (18)
2. Slam Distribution = 7AO, 0RG, 4Wim, 2USO (8AO, 2RG, 4Wim, 4USO)
3. Last Slam Victory = AO 2020 (RG 2022...yes he'd win it as a 35yo and retire in a blaze of glory after having just completed the double CGS :p)
4. Masters Tally = 36 (45)
5. Weeks at Number 1 = 260 (320)
6. Last Tier 1 Tournament Participation = WTF 2020 (RG 2022)
7. Total Match Wins = 1020 (1150)

As a guy who would like Djokovic to succeed more, I believe he will win 4 or 5 more Slams, depending if he gets lucky at one FO.

He will be quite high in other categories, including record Masters wins (35-40), as well as WTF (7).

1. Slam Tally 17
2. Slam Distribution 7AO, 2RG, 4WIM, 3USO
3. Last Slam Victory 2020 RG
4. Masters Tally 40
5. Weeks at Number 1 306
6. Last Tier 1 TP Monte Carlo 2022
7. Total Match Wins 1111

3. Predict his exact Last Slam Victory (e.g. "Slam Name", "Year") - 2019 AO
4. Predict his final Masters Tally - 37
5. Predict his total number of Weeks at Number 1 - 308
6. Predict the last "Tier 1" tournament he participates in before retiring - Bercy 2021
7. Predict his Total Match Wins - Difficult to say.

I feel Novak is trying hard to conserve his body during 2015. He serves slow, he don't hit overheads very hard. He don't even try to hit hard enough (one time I saw him doing was RG final when Stan was just hitting him off the court). He tries to shorten the points in his way. All are good things for longevity, although, injury can happen at anytime. With Becker it seems, he has attitude, win as much as you can in the time you have.

Hope Rafa stays the same because their physical matches take huge toll on Novak.

He was hitting hard in WTF SF against Nadal in order to finish the match as soon as is possible, he literally blown him off the court. I was like what the hell was that?:D

Djoker will end up with 19 slams? I really think a lot of you just started watching tennis about 3 months ago, there's no other explanation for such truly delusional numbers. The only Djoker fan here with realistic and attainable numbers is Djokovic2011.

For those of you making this ridiculous claim, you legitimately think he'll win 9 more majors at 29+? So as an old tennis guy, he'll effortlessly win more slams than Agassi, Lendl and Connors won in their ENTIRE careers?

Guy with 28 has nearly won his CYGS and you have doubts about 9 more in 5 year span ? Never mind us starting watching tennis 3 months ago, what about you losing sight so young ?

Got to back you on this one. At least you don't attack others for their different predictions. I mean, nobody can see the future.

3. AO, 2020
4. 45 (Record)

WTF 8 (Record)

I think the following is quite manageable for Novak:

Year / Age / GS / WTF / Masters / #1 weeks
2016 / 29 / 2 / 1 / 4 / 52
2017 / 30 / 2 / 1 / 4 / 52
2018 / 31 / 1 / 1 / 3 / 52
2019 / 32 / 1 / 0 / 2 / 20
2020 / 33 / 1 / 0 / 2 / 10
2021 / 34 / 0 / 0 / 2 / 0
2022 / 35 / 0 / 0 / 2 / 0

Exactly. And records are there to be broken. Novak can retire right now or he could do it at 35. Who would say after UO 2014 that Novak would win 3 slams next year and be in 1 final ? When you look at Roger, it doesn't seem like he will retire at 35, and he was so close to win 2 slams this year. Serena almost won CYGS at 34 as @uscwang nicely noticed. Who has such audacity to call Federer the greatest tennis player that will ever play this sport ? Why wouldn't Novak do something that Federer couldn't ?
Scenarios are numerous and predictions are fun, so as a Djokovic fan I have every right to be very optimistic. And btw, I can't imagine myself coming here in 5 years (if I turn to be precise with predictions), just to tell Beatles Fan - aha I got you ! It just won't be important.

World War III, Wawrinka, Federer, Nadal could slow Novak down, but not stop him, in that order. :D

When I see this man's determination, I can only ask myself "Who they see as more dedicated on tour ?"

He has all the things he needs and 1000 times above that, he will be remembered as one of the greatest tennis players that ever lived, he doesn't need to suffer, to train so hard, and yet he does all those things.

In fact, Serena won 11 GS by 2009, the year she turned 28, with ONE 3-GS year, TWO 2-GS years, and FOUR 1-GS years.
In comparison, Novak has won 10 GS by 2015, the year he turned 28, with TWO 3-GS years and FOUR 1-GS years.
(It's interesting to compare Serena and Novak's career path.
Serena won her first GS at 18, first 3-GS year at 21. From 18 to 28, she averaged 1 GS/year. From 29 to 34, she averaged 5/3 GS/year.
Novak won his first GS in the year he turned 21, first 3-GS year at 24. From 21 to 28, he averaged 1.25 GS/year.)

Serena went on to win another 10 GS titles, with ONE 3-GS year (at age 34), THREE 2-GS years and ONE 1-GS year. And she isn't done yet.
Things are looking bright for Novak.

Important rule on here: Be careful when creating threads, they can backfire really easily.
You better believe I have this one bookmarked now. :D
So ? I really believe that you will be more mature than you are now and that you will not say either "bravo Nole fans" nor point fingers. ;)

As someone who trained gymnastic from my early age I can say that is exstremely difficult to perform full man split:confused: especially with someone Novaks height.

Well, as you get older it gets tougher. I seriously doubt Novak will eat this every day and do splits after his retirement.

Wouldn't bank on it lol.
In great deal of cases people get tired after 3 years of certain forums they visit and they try to find another amusement. People that stay longer than that are rare. Even if you stay, in 3-4 years you will be looking at all this with different eyes.

Sorry to hear that. :( I hope you don't have troubles now with your hip and that you are ok with light trainings.
