    Wait after racquet is strung?

It is very common for Tour players to drop racquets off in the stringing room the night before a match with specific instructions to NOT string them until an hour or so before their match the next day. No damage seems to happen there when they play with those racquets right off the machine. I...

    Tension Accuracy

I am refering to machines being used the correct way. Even if when a drop weight is used the right way, you have to waste time and energy coaxing it into a position that might or might not produce what you want. Switch to a different string, a different tension, a different racket, take your...

    Tension Accuracy

JBS I understand the physics and trig perfectly well. Your physics and my physics are exactly the same. I don’t think anybody would disagree that a drop weight machine can eventually produce a result similar, if not identical to a true constant pull stringing machine. So can a lock out machine...

    Tension Accuracy

My point is not about equipment snobbery. It is about common sense. A string does not have to elongate or creep in increments of “feet” to royally screw up your string job. As little as ¼ inch of string slippage or elongation and you can kiss 5 or 6 pounds goodbye. Also it has been independently...

    Tension Accuracy

Barry, your physics professor is correct but it is only half of what you need to understand. The analogy left as you state is utter nonsense. Plus, when followed through to it’s conclusion, it validates that an ordinary drop weight is NOT constant pull. Let’s assume this experiment could...

    Tension Accuracy

Gamma Tech, are you saying the Gamma electronic stringing machines have a 4 pound margin of error and are less accurate than a Klippermate?

    New Stringing Machine Poll

Yes, I would also be concerned why a machine would be have a 5 year warranty but they only stand by the electronics for 1 year. Nobody else does that or makes you buy stuff to extend the warranty. That is kind of sketchy. What is up with all the demos too. Are they machines that have been...

    Laserfibre Replacement Grips

Yep. I just looked at the website. They make a Tour fit Twin Tome style grip in all black. It says the Pro Stock grip is designed with added cushion and softness for more comfort. The Twin Tone is a firmer, "players" grip. Both get tackier the more you sweat.

    Laserfibre Replacement Grips

I think you would be looking at the Tour Fit grip. The Pro Stock is supposed to have more cushion to it. What is cool though is the Tour Fit TwinTone grip. It has a really great feel becuase of the way they make it. It fits my hand like a glove. If you don't like the two different colors, I...

    Major Machine Dilemma

I agree with jhp49. Since you already have the Revo, just add the 2086. The quality on the Revo is higher than the SP machines all around. The 2086 is tried and tested as reliable. You'll have the ability to address your constant pull customers as well as your existing lock out customers all in...

    Laserfibre Ms200

That is definitely the DX which does not use weights or ratchets or hand cranks. Supposedly, the machine pulls the tension with a large pre tensioned spring that is in the column. You set the tension by dialing it in like a Neos and activate the tensioning with a foot pedal. But the machine does...

    Tension standards on racquets?

Deductively, even in Johnny Mac's pro days, racquets were strung on constant pull machines at that level of play. And the club where he grew up playing used Serrano machines which were also constant pull. Therefore, if "he" suggested 55, it would mean 55 pounds constant pull. The real questions...

    Article in Tennis Magazine

I would say it is the opposite. The magazines get the smallest amount of the ad revenue from equipment manufacturers. Believe it or not, for every page of non-revenue text, articles and photos etc., there is one page of advertising. So if TM has total 80 pages, it has about 40 totaled pages of...

    Article in Tennis Magazine

Sounds to me like the TM writer left it a little incomplete. What he may be eluding to is that a fatigued racquet will flex more than a new one, but it is also less resilient as a result of being fatigued. It does not snap back as quickly and forcefully as a new one. Since the ball is on and off...
