Worth Buying The Volkl PB 10 Mid Now?

FWIW, talked to a Volkl rep yesterday and there are no plans to drop the PB10 Mid this year. Next year at the earliest, or it may get moved into the Classic line with the C10 Pro and the V1 Classic.

    Michael Russell - Dunlop

FWIW, Russell is still with Dunlop and actually changed strings over the off-season. He was using a full job of ALU Power done in a box pattern (at least while he was in town) pretty much all of last year. In December he switched to using a hybrid of VS gut in the mains and ALU Power in the...

    final crosses

Personally, I am not a fan of the pathfinder awl for a few reasons. I tried one from a friend once and saw too many potential problems to take it seriously. The first problem is that when you are using it like you would a traditional awl, there is a significant ridge between the sheath and the...

To non-push/pull weavers, what's your technique?

Not really sure how to describe my weaving honestly. It's a bit of a hybrid weave. I know that everyone that sees me weave thinks it's a bit strange, but it's almost like pulling with the bottom hand and pushing with the top hand. I just know that it's very quick, especially for textured poly...

    Milos Raonic testing new frames

Not the best photos, but it looks like Raonic is at least considering moving away from the K-Blade. http://www.tennisnow.com/Blogs/Wilson-Tour-Updates/November-2011/What-Wilson-Racquet-Is-Milos-Raonic-Testing-.aspx

    Nishikori playing with BLXPS PJ

The search function is your friend. http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=6045074&postcount=6 For the record, those colors are similar or the same to the upcoming Tour BLX that will be released along with the new frames. Not sure if it has the new 'technology' or not.

    Just orderd my new stringer

There is no real answer to that, well except maybe other than, "it depends." For example, I don't care for the Baiardo, but I love the Star 5. Others will obviously disagree with me. The Baiardo has more features and more "ooooh shiny" factor to it, but I prefer the design of the Babolat system...

Failures, Successes, and Inquiries of a New Stringer

If you are getting a higher string bed stiffness reading after using a lock-out vs. a drop weight, I would say the chances are high that the biggest difference is in the clamps.

    Wilson new colours: nishikori

Nishikori has been using that color pattern for quite a while. As far back as Houston. The writing on the frame just says "Tour 95" and it's just a different paint scheme for him. I found some more pictures of the frame over here: http://www.tennisnow.com/Photos/2011-Houston-Clay-Court-Photos.aspx

    Stringway ML 100

They used to be. Now they are not the same. The Laserfibre Quantum line is supposedly made in house. Completely different mounting and clamps.

New Problem - Posts and wide grommets

The grommets on the V1 Classic are pretty wide, but also pretty thick material. Never seen the grommets get really damaged from the mounting billiard.

    Stringway ML 100

It's also worth noting that Laserfibre is no longer distributing the Stringway machines under their logo. If you check out the Laserfibre website they have a more typical mounting system though they appear to still have the Stringway style of drop weight. If I remember right, Alpha Tennis is the...

    Beginers Corner

As far as getting a subscription, that's up to you. Once you get back into it, the patterns are all pretty self explanatory by checking the frame and grommet spacing. I keep my membership up more for the customizing tools and the occasional odd frame I get. Just finished a Rossignol F-200 Carbon...

    Babolat Star 5 counter accurate?

The Star 5 tracks each time the tension head is activated, which it shows under the heading, "Traction" and uses that number to estimate the number of frames. I figured it out before and I believe it counts right around 35 or 36 pulls as one racquet, which it will list under "Racquets." Not sure...
