    16x18

Sorry if touched on before this, but what is the general thinking as to why manufactures' make any wood racquets with the 16 x18 pattern? Seems like a no-brainer today, but in hindsight all I see is 18 mains in the old boys.

    max 200g's

Using synthetics in this frame and they have a great sweet spot. My favorite string is Sig Poly PP, looking to see if anybody would have feedback on whether going with a hybrid would affect the size of the sweet spot? Thx

    Paint jobs

Seriously, I am seeing "paint job" racquets on the 'bay with big time asking prices. Is this a collector thing? As a serious player I don't see why buying a painted racquet is that much more important than the real thing.

Yonex R-7: does anyone know the specs?

sorry to resurrect! As a frequent user of the R7, R22, R27, I can very firmly state that the R7 is from a different mold. Meaning it really is a slight bit bigger than the other frames mentioned above, all of which I believe to be 90sq inches. I personally love the R7, and after comparing to...

Anybody knows about Yonex R-24 and R-50?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have been playing with a couple of R-7's over the winter. This one is a tad bigger than the other rexkings. Serious plow through, great at the net and baseline.

    Racquet physics

Sure, I will do some more measurements to see what materializes from what this brings. The funny thing, if you can call it funny, is that I played indoors when I was hitting older racquets and I was hitting a Wilson K95 16x19 27in. against a behemoth of sorts Yonex R-7. The R-7 in its current...

    Racquet physics

The frames are a few years old and dont have stated swingweights. I have been measuring the parameters for the swingweight calculator on the two racs. I mentioned. kknowing those, the swingweights were within 5 pts of each other despite the different static weights and balance points. It was...

    Racquet physics

One is a Wilson, other Yonex. I did the specs with my own (known calibrated correct) so I was able to take their specs out of the equation and work with absolute specs. I think you are on to something with swingweight. Maybe for me, or others too, swingweight plays a more important role in...

    Racquet physics

I come to all of you with head bowed in respect, since I know someone will help me get my mind wrapped around this. Ex. I hit fantastically with two racquets that have completely different specs. Rac. 1 is 11.4 oz, 4 pts HL, Rac. 2 is 12.8 oz. and 8 pts HL. They both are demos and both feel...

Adding weight to Radical = Prestige?

Thanks for the input, that has been my logic all along, really doesn't matter which generation of rackets you are dealing with... you said exactly what I picked up on, the radicals very quickly go down in price where the prestiges do not. Replicating a radical to a prestige is actually pretty...

Adding weight to Radical = Prestige?

Seems like the Prestige line are all pretty close to specs in the MP line. I was looking at the Flexpoint and maybe the non IG You Teks.

Adding weight to Radical = Prestige?

Did this search, nothing came up. In the sensitivity of not high-jacking an existing thread, I wanted the TW audience's experiences or thoughts on this subject. I bought a couple of lightly used MP Flexpoint Radicals, added the weight and brought the frames to Prestige specs. The flexibility...

    racquet restorarion

Thx for the input. i'm not sure what is meant by print whatever decal you want. i can see where buying lettering decals from a hobby store, etc, but i would run into font and proper color issues. what is involved with designing my own transferable decals?
