Recommended hybrid tensions with Nat Gut mains/Luxilon 4G crosses

Very low tensions are great with full polyester but I had to increase it for gut. For hybrid, I'm using a big tension differential and it's the best thing I've ever used and the polyester doesn't go dead or lock in to the gut mains. I'm using Prostaff 97S 18x17 Luxilon gut mains, Pro Line 2...

    Dead strings without tension loss?

I found poly great to play great with even in 30's. Counter the inevitable stringbed lock and it plays great much longer.

One handed backhand players, favorite/best rackets?

For most of my life I've used headlight racquets from different eras, weights, strings, headsizes/shapes etc. And it's been great. But for the last few years I've been using a Pro Staff 97S at even balance and I think it's a step up! Stability is still amazing so I am ripping the ball with...

Accepting that you cannot use poly strings

I also gave up full poly years ago. I kinda lost interest in the sport and on the occasion i did try to play, full poly would give me pain and it would last a week! I tried multi mains/ poly crosses and that was much better for comfort and I ended up liking the playability more too! The main...

Serena, Graf, Navratilova, Evert, and Court

Ignoring doubles is wild to me. It's not only a huge part of the sport but the extra energy you're expending at tournaments makes those achievements outstanding. Serena may have many more singles titles if she didn't play doubles. Which is why I find Serena way ahead of Graf. But maybe behind...

    A Pickleball confession

Well I've only played singles in pb so that may be part of it but pb just has way less down time. Less waiting for the next point and even less time waiting for the next shot. That adds up immediately. In tennis you do get some extended points that winds you but that's followed by a bit of a...

    The gut/poly thread

I was using LXN gut 1.30 / Pro Line 1.20 at 55/45lbs and it was pretty good, lasted very well too. Now I increased it to 60/50lbs and it's superb, better feel and control! Amazing blend of spin, feel, power and control  I don't play much anymore and this boost in confidence i got...

    A Pickleball confession

Such a fun sport, it's a great compromise between tennis and table tennis! I'm finding PB gives me a better cardio workout while tennis is maybe more strength workout as muscles are more sore. The accessibility of the sport is a huge factor.

Bianca Andreescu: under the radar but not for long!

Noticed a new serve motion today, before it was a pinpoint and now it's a platform. Seems to be working very well. Anybody know if she's mentioned the change?
