Oh look, another one. I'm not obsessed with Federer and his fans, I'm being harassed by them. And so is Nadal, you guys put him down any chance you get. If you guys have any dignity or class, you would stop replying in this thread. Saying that Nadal and his academy are something great for tennis and adds to his legacy in a Nadal topic doesn't merit Federer fans coming in here and putting down Nadal. Get it? You probably don't.

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you write here, and find the invasion of Fed fans on the Nadal threads for the purpose of bashing obnoxious, childish and pathetic.
I've now ignored over 70 posters and I still see the bashing!
I didn't come on this forum to bicker with Fed fans, and i really want to disengage from all the tiresome fighting and bickering, but it's hard to do so when you have to look at their constant insulting of Nadal. UNbeleivable.

I know there are some good Fed fans too. They should tell the obnoxious ones to put a lid on it.

They are having a great reunion. This is Pico's friend Lucas Lombilla from Argentina.

With Gerard Butler?

Is that Monaco second from left? They're all so good looking!
Also, Rafa looks so small! I've heard people who've seen him in real life say this, and once when he was being interviewed by some sports commentators I know quite well I couldn';t help thinking Rafa looked really small.
Yet he doesn't on the court!
Thoughts on this Rafa fans?

Lol.. Is there a limit for the ignore list cause at this rate I might need more than 50 ;)

No, I just checked and the Fed news thread is peaceful. Nadal fans are indeed not butthurt.
That is me with more than 50, last count around 70. Still need more ignores!
That's why I misunderstood your reply once, i thought it was to me but it wasn't. This places is full of ghosts, other than The Ghost.

There are a couple that is sometimes doing it. Some of them are really nice.

So you are up to over 70 on ignore now? I have to put more on ignore. I have been hesitating doing it because Im afraid of loosing important knowledge since I am in the leagues. But dont think the nasy ones are in the leagues anyways cause its seem that their knowledge is only about Federer and his rivals. I have a job to do!

Well everything in life is a trade-off. I think it's essential. I couldn't stomach this place without removing many of the posts from view. And if they're insulting you, you don't see it. It doesn't exist.

I need Rafa to start playing again soon! I've watched all the youtube highlights I can find,l and it's not satisfying my urge.

This, I need some matches to watch man... he should play Washington just so that I only need to wait 1,5 weeks instead of 2,5. Nothing is worse than that 7 months lay off though, especially since we expected him back at AO and he pulled out

He never plays DC though.
I pray he turns up in MOntreal.
I'm thinking of going. But at the least, watching on TV.
Yeah that long lay off was brutal, having to watch Murray and Djok all the time ....

Excellent list.
You don't want to even see who Fed defeated for most of his early slams, like 11 years 2004-2008. Relative nobodies, or very young Andy Murray etc.
Sorry, had to say it.
I even have a list, copied
@clayqueen has attended Rafa's press conferences, she can describe him.

Octo, I was looking for another post of yours that I now can't find.
It was about the name of Rafa's yacht, Beethoven, and the story about a grandfather ... Can you post again please? It interest me that his grandfather (I think) was a classical musician. Beethoven is my favourite composer, so I love seeing that's the name on Rafa's boat.

Yes, Rafa's grandfather was a classical musician. Among other things, he worked in the theatre and staged a kids opera there.

Thanks! I remember hearing at one point that Rafa liked opera--not so typical for athletes! I liked Rafa still more for that.

At least he had that 2013 season after this break. Unfortunately, his last great year so far.

I think you have heard that he loves “The Phantom Of The Opera" so much that he’s seen it “like seven times.” :)

Wow. You can really see what a star he is, generally--beyond tennis--in that pic outside the theatre.

Well yes, I know he's 6'1" and something like 190 lbs. But the point is he looks small in that pic (maybe it's the way they're grouped together) and I've heard people who have met him up close say that.
Rafa's musculature is deceiving. If you look at his back you will see a lot of well developed musculature. Not so much when you see him from the front. Also, his legs and the famous butt are quite muscular. He gets most of his power from his back and legs/lower body.

Its just because he is so cute ;)
In person I would say he looks better than on TV. He has a really nice calm aura, but at the same time looks very focused, even when walking around outside tennis arena. Its when you see him play he just shows an incredible power it makes people gasp, its mezmerising. I havent seen any audience react like they do when they see Rafa play.

Wow! YOu have described something I have also noted and pondered over--his extremely muscled and defined and broad back (particularly in the intraspacular area, where most tennis players get the great definition) but his not broad look from the front.
I've seen this in alot of male players (I tend to study bodies--not just from the point of lust, but a genuine interest in how people are put together and how certain sports benefit from and also create certain physiological features). Not broad shoulders; but broad through the intraspacular area.
And yes, his formidable butt and quads. I have no less than a hundred pix of Rafa saved to my computer so I can study these in depth. Greatest ass in tennis, no? Thiem has the same derrierre, though not quite as grand.
The quads are definitely the great engines of tennis, the power source. Well, alot of core is involved too.

Ghost! YOu have made me gasp. I think if I was that close to Rafa I would melt into human plasma. It is the mesmerising quality you describe that first got me hooked on Rafa--could not take my eyes off him, and it isn't just lust, though that's in there too. I have to see him live! Twice I was planning to in Toronto and then he didn't turn up.

Rafa (and a couple of his childhood friends) and Maria attending the wedding of Joan Suasi, another one of Rafa's Mallorcan gang. I think Pico was there too as Joan was Pico's manager at the end of his ATP tour days for the company Rafa and Carlos Costa set up when they split from IMG.

Oops Octo, you got to the Rafa wedding pic a minute before me. :D I don't think that pic of Rafa and Marc is from Joan's wedding though - it's from Marc's wedding a year and a half ago and that's Marc's new wife he's groping. :p

You are absolutely right. I have had the pleasure of seeing Rafa up close on many occasions and he is tall and well proportioned and paler in complexion and very good looking. Rafa really stands out in the crowd.

I last saw him close last year and he looked much leaner than he appears on TV and fairer too. I thought he always had a tan.

I hear he rejected €500,000 appearance fee at Hamburg to focus on the US Open series. He is keen to win the US Open after missing out on Wimbledon. Despite another fourth round loss, I think Rafa believed he could have reached the final or even win it had he gotten over the Mueller match.

500,000 is pocket change for him. He normally gets a million. :D Plus he had too many personal things going on at home. Another Mallorca friend got married two weeks ago, his annual boat trip and party around the Balearic Islands with his friends, Pico coming from Argentina to see him and be part of Joan's wedding today, plus things to catch up on at the Academy and the Foundation.

I agree with you that he's keen to do well on the Canadian/American swing and that he believed he could have reached the final. I've never seen him so grumpy in a post match presser, he's usually pretty philosophical about wins and losses.

Wow! Appearance fees are that high? Wouldn't have thunk. But that amount would not mean alot to Rafa at this point. The points would have meant more.
I'm glad he's not going back to clay, I think that would have compromised the transition to HC.
I think he could have made the final or won too, had he gotten past Mueller. Rafa gets better and better with each round. Not sure this is true of Fed, frankly.
Mueller was very very tough, this was ntohing like some of Rafa's early round losses in previous years (and some of those were very very tough too). I6t was the 2 of 16 BP rate that accounts for the loss (I'll never forget that number). If Rafa wants the big wins off clay he's going to have to be even more clutch. This is not criticism but just a statement of the last missing element.

You mean after Mueller? Yes, I noticed that (though I have seen him way more devastated) signalling that Rafa thought he should have won. I think in general his tone has changed in these pressers (since slump/injury years of 2015-2016) he demands more of himself. That's good.

Thanks for that! I used to really like Robredo, he's disappeared. Injured? Wonder if that was the year Robredo beat Fed?
Let's hope Rafa has another USO like this one here, my fav slam win of Rafa's. My pix shows him rising to the heavens just after clinching it.

This is not 2010 or 2013 anymore. The USO courts are very different now.

Really excited to see him on the faster hardcourts this year. He struggled a little last year but he was carrying the wrist injury and the forehand was just a safe shot most of the time he was not hitting it properly. He should have shut his season down after RG but instead he went to Rio for obvious reasons.
