I just go by visual clues, it could be a different stiffness or other specs as a prostock but it is a 6.1 mold.
BTW might be off topic but what other racquets/racquet company have copied the 6.1 mold?

Apparently he didI'm not sure, however, of when he got the 93 squared inches frame he used for most of his career (never been available to the public)...QUOTE]
That is his custom PS93 (I have this racket with this pj). I believe he never switched to a PS95 but stayed on the 93, but testing new drill patterns. After Fed stated experimenting Dimi also did and probably at some point had something 97ish, but it’s assumed he went back to his PS93... with whatever drill pattern he’s using now.
See some PS90/93 comparison pics

@frinton: Thanks for confirming that. Can you measure the 93's thickness? I've always been curious about it (my assumption would be around 19mm, as it's probably meant to be an open pattern version of the Prestige Mid).
By the way, his current string pattern is 18x17. You can count it on the 2014 picture I posted or on any 2014-2017 picture.
BLX90 vs. BLX93, a dime if I remember correctly between the 2

I’m totally guessing but I think they still make them for him, at least until they dropped him. That may have been a factor in letting him go, the cost to produce a frame for a few guys vs rank and visibility compared to the ROI on H22 or Tour 95 players.
I think Stephane Robert plays the same frame as Alexandr with the normal drill pattern and there may be others.
I think it's common knowledge that some players use old out of production racquets, so most brands have those racquets built on their pro rooms, or at least they use old the molds to built something exclusive for some of the top players. Think Murray with his PT630/280's, now called PT57A. Or Rafa with his old late 00's Aero Drives.
This guys get dozens of racquets each year, there's no way Head or Babolat have a stash of hundreds of racquets for them. They simply have the original molds, and bake new ones, year after year.
you ever tried it? i don't know how anyone can play with it. federer really is a genius.i would think the RF97 would be a perfect racquet for a lot of ATP pros, however I haven't seen too many use it.

Are y'all kidding, the RF97 is easy to use. Yeah, its heavy, but its a cheater racquet. You buildup to it over a week or so and then start jammin with it. I used the red one for about 8 months or so, and the black one for about 3 mos.you ever tried it? i don't know how anyone can play with it. federer really is a genius.
It was designed for and BY a player who plays almost the total opposite style of everyone on tour. Why would it be a racquet others would be likely to choose?
Yes it is heavy...but it is not designed for a baseliner...the RF97 doesn't come from its mold crying for customization. It's ready made for an aggressive serve volleyer with a strong baseline game. That equals no one save federer on the pro tour.

However, after reading @asifallasleep thread on Coric's H19, it's no wonder no pro uses the RF. But we don't even really know what kind of racquet Fed uses anyway.you ever tried it? i don't know how anyone can play with it. federer really is a genius.

Yep, you're right. Total brain malfunction . We're still eating left over turkey btw. That has to be it. I was still thinking about your string spacing diagram lolYou mean @asifallasleep i think, he bought the custom drilled H19, I just make random observations on the retail.
Only if you remove the clear grip handle protector to show its a new racquet! Is that what overgrips are for? To protect the clear plastic wrapper handle from abuse and unwrapping! LOL!Those of you who have the RF97 or RF85, does the black dye rub off the leather grip like it does with their orange leather grips notorious for bleeding orange dye?
The one that RF actually uses after the customization. Only niave, intermediate tennis player would use the retail stock RFA! LOL! Pros use the real deal! Their job depend on it!Which RF97? The stock one or the one after customization that Fed uses? They are quite different.

Possibly, but we are talking I think about RF's racquet and all his stuff is customized to look cool and not have that happen....ever! Everything RF has is cool looking and to get his racquet handle black dye rub off the leather grip would give RF dye on his hands and if that occurs during a GS match; I sure he would loose because he be freaked out! He has like $500 haircuts after all! That being cool!Doesn't it get dried up and crack? I'm sure the plastic is to let consumers know its new and you're supposed to take it off before use.
