Yeah sinner is One of the top talent young guys. He is ranked 68th in the world but that is probably mostly because of covid shortened the season. Had he played a full schedule in 2020 I think he would be ranked like 15-20 now which is about his level of play right now (which is better the paire)

His covid test was a false positive so it's not post covid meltdown. Also, it looks just like any of his meltdowns.

Ok, “post false-positive-covid-test-meltdown” then.

also, has he ever said “I have the backhand of a virgin now” on national tv before? And started playing with his left hand? If so, this man is a national treasure.

Sacré Benoit, I like that. But I agree with Born_to_slice, I would like to see him more focus on tennis sometimes because he is such a talented player.

If Paire turned up without being properly prepared to play, and only went on court to plss his pants / complain / seek frivolous medical attention and collect his first round cheque, another "lack of effort" fine similar to what Kyrgios got in Shanghai should be incoming.

If anyone wonders why a joker like Paire manages to keep such a high ranking, besides having a great backhabd, have a look at how many tournaments this guy plays in a normal (non CoViD) season.

He plays an insane amount of events, and the overplaying probably contributes to the fact that he often looks miserable, bored and peevish on court.

I saw the end of that match. Paire is tanking. Hits a underhand serve, then a lob winner off Sinner's approach shot. Sinner casually, and I mean a walk in the park casual, walks over to towel off. So slow, I'm thinking to pi$$ Paire off. Paire gets tired of waiting and serves while Sinner is still walking back to get into position. Chair says Sinner wasn't ready, Paire argues play to servers pace. So... I say Sinner should grow a paire!!!!

Well he did, just by taking his sweet time and getting Paire even more worked up. Worked beautifully.

...... funniest thing about that particular incident is that it was Paire’s best serve of the match.

Service ace down the T.

In circumstances like this, I always wonder why a player doesn't complain directly to the other player. "Hey, I'm ready to serve, you've had reasonable time to get ready. O.k? " Seems like that would be the adult thing to do... instead of going to complain to daddy. A rule...or players code?

I still remember the match last year in Washington DC, when he played Tsitsipas and had a go at Stefanos for changing his shoes multiple times during the match.

"What?! I broke my shoe!" :-D

Tsitsipas thinks he's good kid???

For changing his shoes like 50 times during that tournament. Lol!

I don't understand why after the first time he didn't just replace the laces in his shoes with shorter ones so they wouldn't hang down and touch the court as he's moving around.

Nice doubles meltdown too in Rome and this time complete with racquet smash!
Not even the ever calm Mahut could help him him.
Oh the demons!!
They went on to win though.

It's that he slides in such an extreme manner the tops of his shoes get dragged, that wears the laces away, clean through!
He's since switched to velcro. Problem solved.

I'm showing that they lost 2 & 4 to Jurgen Melzer and Eddie Rogers-Vasselin
