OOP today

We might be able to see today at work Canadian Naomi Xu (who qualified, but is on stadium, as she plays a good Mexican player).

Other Canadian girl players (but higher ranked) are: Victoria Mboko [12], Marina Stakusic, Annabelle Xu, Kayla Cross and Mia Kupres.

The Canadian boy players are only Jaden Weeks and Marko Stakusic.

The star is, of course,
Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva
[1]

Update: the girls doubles final at Copa Yucatan, in Meida, Mexico, will showcase only Canadians

The ITF info (draws, OOP) is at

https://www.itftennis.com/en/tournament/ja-merida/mex/2021/j-ga-mex-01a-2021/

It's Quebec vs. Ontario all over again in this final:

CAN Annabelle Xu
CAN Naomi Xu

vs.

CAN Kayla Cross
CAN Victoria Mboko
[6]

Watch for these names in the years to come.

Annabelle is 17, Naomi is 15. They are sisters from Montreal.
Kayla is 16, Victoria is 15. They are from Toronto.

Most of the time lately, they've been all training
as part of Junior Team Canada
at the National Tennis Center in Montreal, AFAIK,
under coach Simon Larose and other coaches.

In this JA-category (highest, just under the Slams) prestigious tournament, and on clay, these Canadians were brilliant in doubles,
but, ahem, less so in singles, where they could't, unfortunately, overcome higher ranked juniors.

The Annabelle and Naomi Xu sisters were unseeded in doubles, but they fought through several seeded teams to get to the final.

This, while Kayla Cross and Victoria Mboko have more experience as a team in international competition.
Seeded [6] in doubles, they beat in the SFs the
[1] seeds, the powerful team of the Czech sisters, Linda and Brenda Fruhvirtova,
who are both top ten in junior singles and have some considerable fame already.
The Canadians are top 50-70, with the exception of Naomi, who is 377, but climbing.

Unfortunately, this match won't be in the Stadium, thus not streamed.

Hmmm. Top 4 seeds and four top 10 players on the girl's side. That doesn't usually even happen at the junior slams. I wonder when the last time four top 10 juniors reached a tourney SF?

Second week in a row, it'll be Fruhvirtova vs Fruhvirtova in a final. Those girls can ball. Big upset by younger sis, Brenda, in knocking off #1 junior Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva.

The girls singles final (showcasing the Fruhvirtova sisters) starts at 18.00 local time, followed by the boys singles final.
Hopefully both streamed.

Yes, big upset, but not if looking at the mechanics of Jimenez's moving and exaggerated wrist action. I wonder if she's going to be there long-term. In that respect, Linda has better prospects than Brenda (more athletically moving), but let's see in several years

Little sis beats big sis in the final. If my calculations are correct, they'll be #5 (Linda) and #6 (Brenda) in the world on Monday.

Final is available here:

Thanks!
Wonder if there's anywhere the girls doubles finals, showing all 4 Canadians?

Mirra Andreeva is the closest to Brenda in the same age (14, 2007)
smallish, but a young she-wolf from behind cutting eyes and a HOWL [which I hate:happydevil:], with a topspin overdrive engine started late this year
she too beat Linda.

Have a look at her here:
Let's see them all in Eddie Herr ...
