So this is 11/19 at 17.30 local time. Ah, 12:30am here on USA west coast. It's supposed to be on "Uniqlo Live Station" whatever that is. Anyone know if it will be on YouTube, etc? I sent tweet to Qlo but no one ever responds, nice social media "team" on the case.

About time they started leveraging him more effectively given the insane amount of money they paid for his 'services'; really been getting the vibe that the company owner only hired him due to ego - i.e. basically to prove that he was powerful enough to make even someone as famous as Fed his b1t$h.

I heard an interesting rumor that Fed's contract was hush money for not exposing Djokovic's PED use while Djok was Uniqlo's star athlete

Re conspiracy theories - but not re the thread topic so apologies - I know these guys all get tested regularly but nonetheless I’d really like to know what was actually in Novak’s Parisian jungle juice. Of course I’m hoping for something salaciously left field given the secrecy - and ‘telepathic’ water purification statements. Given how ripped the guy is I also want in.

The whole thing is so weird.

Presumably, they knew it would look weird--so one could deduce that they either didn't care, or actually wanted it to look weird. There was probably a much less sketchy way to do it.

Remember when some unknown woman released a statement that some men had approached her to propose a scheme where she would sleep with Djok and then the info would be released to ruin his good name? She was like "I would never do this...but he should watch out, because maybe not every girl is as honest as I am"...WTF was that?

Everything about him is strange. Literally not one thing is normal.

Outstanding movement aside I've never been a fan of his game aesthetically, or the constant histrionics & overt nationalism, but his ability to maintain his body in such peak condition - blessed genetics/flexibility aside - is truly remarkable. I hope he writes some sort of tell all book when he retires; like you said he's one strange cat.

Nike should buy out fed contract for $15 million per a year and Uniqlo should eat $15 mills.
Uniqlo will not have a chance to sell tennis items and make $30 mil profit so they can pay to fed ( I know they make billions of dollar so they have enough money to burn for nothing). I don’t believe how many fed fans buy Uniqlo casual apparels then Uniqlo make $30 mills. Uniqlo will burn a lot of money for not much benefits.

Nike should buy out Fed contract then starts RF brand. I believe Nike has a power to make RF brand. I know tennis market is small but there is a possibility that RF brand can generate $20-30 mils per a year.
I think there is no chance after Uniqlo contract in order to start RF brand.
There are not many people who can be developed into good brands….It’s sad to see exciting brand will be gone since Uniqlo never bring any exciting items for fed fans.

Fair contract might be $15 mil from Nike (but only tennis/sports related items) and $15 mils from Uniqlo (casual apparels).

I noticeably see less interests in entire tennis shoes and apparels nowadays.

Yep, good point; so many players, including pros, look like they’re dressed for a BBQ these days. Name brand shoes will no doubt live on, partly due to performance benefits, but unless the high end clothing also has some sort of extra dynamic value, folks won’t bother. Materials like Dri-fit are now far too ubiquitous to justify paying a premium that only goes into the lining of stars’ pockets.

IMO, Fed looked the best under Nike. But in his final years with Nike, the on court tennis gear was getting bland and repetitive, and the short term RF brand that Nike created for Fed was over priced and just did not sell, with many items seeing Nike Outlet or Marshalls racks. I believe Uniqlos acquisition of Fed was not to specifically sell tennis or RF gear, but to use his to get the brand name of Uniqlo to the mass market. That is why in many Fed advertising pics, he is selling the casual attire which does not have the Uniqlo logo.

Also, i've purchase more current Uniqlo Dry EX t shirts, short, hoodies because of Fed's usage in recent years, compared to his last years with Nike, where I didn't purchase anything at all.

But the one positive about have Fed at Nike is, they actually made good shoes for him. There's no way Fed would be playing with the current Vapor crap.

Creating hype is really important. Uniqlo never achieved anything so far. Uniqlo does not need Fed to sell more apparels for casual apparels. Nike knows how to create and re-energize tennis market.
If I charge RF brand, start to introduce previous apparels and shoes with current technology. It will create enough interest and people start to buy something. Going discount stores are actually not bad thing. Nike’s strategy is over-producing products and selling whatever they can since bulk orders reduce production cost more. I consider 2009 as a peak time for fed items and those items were all over the places (outlets, Ross, TJmaxx etc…)

Fed contract needs to reconstruct now and split $15 mils for Nike and $15 mils for Uniqlo.
Nike produce RF brand tennis releated items and Fed still be their model for casual apparels.

Fed got one of worst contract with Nike in early his career then end of career their relationship was sour. Uniqlo just overpaid and not doing anything for almost half of his contract. I think both sides should shake up and reevaluate themself. They should not waist time since tennis industry does not look promising at all currently.
RF brand can bring some excitements to tennis and making interesting and good products will give decent success.
when people get good/interesting items, people usually buy more items than they are actually needed.
usually people might be okay with 5 shorts, 5 shirts, 2 Jackets and 2 shoes but suddenly those numbers will double or triple with good and exciting products.

currently tennis market is extremely boring everywhere.
