    Measuring the 40'

I have a stand up machine with a reel holder under the turn table. I used 2 pieces of red tape on my turn table to mark off 1'. I just grab the string and pull out with one hand stationary on the lead mark along the side of the turn table while counting in my head. It's as quick as pulling it...

Gasquet backhand, technically the best on tour now?

Although not the most exciting stroke to watch, I think Andrei Pavel had the most mechanically sound backhand on tour. Gonzo could rip some insane winners off that wing too -

Planning Trip to Georgia Coastal Islands

Jekyll has nice beaches but St. Simons has waay more to offer as far as rentals, dining and shopping etc. Our beaches are pretty nice too ;) The King and Prince resort is here on the beach and they have 2 private clay courts. Give me a ring if you want some more info on other choices: nine one...

Planning Trip to Georgia Coastal Islands

Jekyll has its own tennis center with 12 clay courts, call Pete Poole for info (912) 635-3154. We have 8 public courts on St. Simons (all hard); 2 lit. Brunswick has 6 lit courts at Howard Cofffin park just off 17. The College of Coastal Georgia has a great facility with lit courts too (hard).

Which racquet did you dream of owning when you were growing up and .....

Wow, almost same here - I played with Kneissl White Star Mids during high school then moved on the the Estusa Power Beams. Never did land a Puma Becker Super - I always wanted to sport Rossi F200 carbons though :)

    Sanchez Casal returning to FL?

Saw an ad on Tennis channel that they will be in Naples, July 2012. Anyone have any details? I wonder what the issues were last time and what will be different now.

How to toss the ball more into the court with stability

Lots of good tips here - Also, you may want to practice your toss with two balls in your hand, use one to push the other into the air. Another way of putting it is imagine you are holding a tall glass of water and you want to shoot the water straight into the air while keeping your arm...

    The one handed backhand club

Mine is closest in mechanics to the Haasemeister. I do often get caught late against flatter hitters on that wing; mostly cause I'm fat and slow though :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49swrZyIn-4

    Tourna Big Hitter Black 7

Strung up the 17ga last night at 40lbs; played three longs sets this morning. I like this string alot and it played softer than I thought it would. Spin production is really really good as reported by everyone else. Decent pop on flat serves and great action on slices and kickers. It is a...

Pulling out of a modern forehand

I would say to increase the use of your off hand and really emphasis shoulder turn; above all strike the ball into the court and not at your side. This is a great video that highlights the importance of the contact point in the modern forehand. I've used this training method with my kids with...

Hitting the serve at Highest point.

Practice with an old racquet against a fence - line your feet up as close to the fence as possible and practice tossing so that the ball hugs the fence/windscreen but doesn't bump off of it. "Pin" the ball against the fence with a relaxed swing and you feet planted - this will be an easy visual...

    Full poly hybrids

Anyone else playing around with mixes of poly? I've been using RPM 17 in my mains and Black Magic 17 crosses and its a pretty awesome set up - more spin than just BM and crisper volleys and serves than full RPM. Initially I went 38/40 on the tension but am going down to 35/38 on my next...

    Noticeable difference @ 35 lbs

Rpm in the mid to high thirties has worked well for me ... unbelievable action on the ball. I have been fooling around with RPM 17 mains and Black Migice 17 crosses and really like it at 38/42. I've been really swatting the ball off both wings with better top than straight BlackMagic...

    Noticeable difference @ 35 lbs

It's amazing isn't it? I've gone back up a few pounds with my current set up. I love RPM Blast in the mid 30's but found I like Black Magic in the low 40's especially after the string bed gets a few hours on it.

TW why never a review of the Babolat Pure Storm Tours?

    Silicone Spray is heaven

This is true, when I use CLP I wear nitrile gloves and use the same rag over and over - I store it in a ziplock baggie. I would suggest spraying it onto the rag and dabbing/wiping rather than spraying directly onto the machine.

    absolute beginer

Just as a FYI ,I have the 910 and had zero issues and its been pretty accurate at lockout using a digital scale. Then again, I only string a few times a month for myself, my son and a couple of friends.

    Radwanska's Frame

I demoed this racquet for my 9yr old son because its available in 4" grip, he hated it and I couldn't find a single positive about it - I don't know how she plays with that thing.
