It's two piece and it does have a trap door (the inner piece with a logo on it). To open it, you just need to stick a screwdriver or something in that little hole and pull it out.

That's right. I'm not sure if it's 3rd or 4th cross, but you tie it at 11H (it might be the 4th). You do loose some tension when you tie the starting knot and release the clamp. I usually pull first two crosses little tighter because of that.

When you clamp the first cross, mains are holding it while you are tensioning it. Then after you weave and tension 4-5 crosses you can tie the starting knot at 11H and you will not loose any tension.
