I've noticed some people will put natural gut on the mains whilst others put natural gut on the crosses - which is the way to go? Does natural gut go OK if the other string is poly? Also, should the mains or the crosses have a slightly higher tension?
Thanks for the suggestions. The ProStaff Tour 95 I have is the lighter version, so weighs only 326g unstrung although I probably have around 10g in lead just above the handle. This has worked well for me in the past, but coming from a long layoff and with my timing a bit off, I think I might...
After an 18 month layoff, I'm finally back on the courts with my leaded up ProStaff Tour 95. My previous racquet history has mainly been the ProStaff Tour 90 and ProStaff 6.0 95. I tend to string my racquets very loosely - around 47/48lbs.
I'm thinking it might be time to start going...
I'm after a pair of lightweight tennis shoes - what is out there at the moment? Not fussed with having the latest and greatest, so last season's stock is perfectly fine.
I played with the Tour 90 for about a year and have been experimenting with a leaded up Tour 95. I still haven't been able to get the same plough through, but at least it's a lot more forgiving.
Of course, Wayne Ferreira! Definite redhead in my books.

In his playing days, I would say Marc Rosset was a brown top, but of the recent photos I've seen, he seems to be getting redder with age...
Just compiling a list of the greatest ginger tops of all time.
1. Jim Courier
2. Boris Becker - jury is out whether he is a true redhead.
3. Mark Woodforde
Also, if anyone can compile a redhead to redhead record, that would be extremely helpful in determining who the GROAT is.
And suddenly all the old school racquet tragics come out of the woodwork!
Great find mate, I've recently also got hold of a particular Snauwaert that I've been looking for for years, so yeah, you must be over the moon!
Depends on your level. I went from the 6.0 95 to the ProStaff Tour 90 and yeah, considerably more shanking all round. I found the 6.0 95 to not suit people who make contact with the ball in the top section of the hoop when serving.
There is a company that makes these but I don't have the brand name on me. It's essentially a 3 ball plastic cylinder with a screw top lid that pressurises the ball. I bought it in a pro shop (but I'm not in the US).
My spec sticker is the same - white text on silver. And it's not a sticker, it's printed on. I do have the hologram though, and I've noticed the throat has wilson.com rather than wilsontennis.com. Does yours have all this as well? Do you know if yours is legit?
What that guy just said. I'll add that it's a nice racquet and I did play matches with it for a short while. Decided in the end that I needed more manouverability, something not characteristic of OS racquets.
