Wilson ProStaff 6.0 85 . How do you play with it?

This intelligent and informative discussion, which I've rarely seen on this forum, makes me feel encouraged to get my new, re-issued PS 6.0 85 from the wall to court and hit with it :) I ordered it couple of months ago but was unsure if I would be able to handle it. Thanks

Authenticity of New Head Graphene Speed Pro

I just got a Head Graphene Speed Pro which I enjoy hitting with so far. Having paid more attention to details, I just realize that there is no "authenticity sticker/hologram" that is usually seen in the throat area of racquets. How do I know if a HGSP racquet is authentic?

Sorry for no picture yet. I'm still figuring out how to do this well.

So, did anyone get a racquet for Xmas? (or other tennis gear)

I got a PS85 even though I was not sure if I would be able to handle it. It must be nostalgia.

What is with the nostalgia over Serve and volley?

Fortunately, many of us do not idolize either camp. So, the world is not that hopeless :)

What is with the nostalgia over Serve and volley?

This is so far the best comments in this thread; it holds true for BOTH camps.

Nadal - "Djokovic Lucky" "Give me two years without an injury and…."

Gosh, 120 comments in less than 12 hours! Is it better to play tennis than typing all these mostly angry, sarcastic, provocative comments on Saturday?

Why do so few use 4 1/2" gripsize?

I'm fan of Rod Cross's Technical Tennis book. I couldn't agree with you more.

    Going cold turkey

Perception of value is relative; a $100 racquet is expensive to those who are not addictive to tennis but the same racquet is not that expensive to those who love tinkering with their toys. Level of income can also be a factor; a $100 racquet is an expensive item to those who make, say, $30,000...

    Going cold turkey

I second it. There are tangible and intangible costs. Addiction to drugs, gambling, alcohol has intangible cost which is unquantifiable damage to mental and physical health. Addiction to racquets, if translated to addiction to the sport, is conversely beneficial to addicts' health: Tennis...

    Going cold turkey

I understand what you're going through since I'm on the same boat :) Reading a good book that is about tennis racquet may help relieve your impulse to buy and enforce your will to go cold turkey.

*** Long Live The Radicals ***

Tennis cannot differentiate religions, or rock-n-roll from gospel music. I strongly suspect those who jump in on this thread already consider the Radicals their religion :)

This is a revelation to me. You're not kidding, are you?

*** Long Live The Radicals ***

Having tried various racquets, I've now played more consistently with Microgel Radical MP. This racquet makes me hit with full windshield-wiping swings. It's also control-oriented, precise, and very maneurverable. The only drawback is that it's slightly light for me. I have to learn how to...

Why do racquets with a small head size have such high prestige among some people?

"A player's knowledge (right or wrong, fact or opinion) that he brings onto the court is the only lens through which he can observe and analyze events." R. Cross and C. Lindsey, Technical Tennis, 2005. I believe this observation holds true when you ask different players their opinions about...

    ADPGT: Why the fuss?

I recently played with a guy who was a high-school team member. He swung an APDGT. And his serves were near-impossible to return

    Prince EXO Silver 115

I'm about to sell my old Prince O3 Silver since I'm now using only "player's racquets." I've, however, changed my mind after reading your post; I should save the racquet for the days when I'm forced to play pain-free sets :)

How do you carry-on tennis racquets on flight?

Backatcha, Sorry for a very late followup on this topic but I just want to let you know that your advice worked very well for me. I wove racquets with clothes, put them in a checked bag, took them out at destination, and did not notice any big discrepancy in appearance, string tension...

    Nadal fans...

I just watched again the Nadal/Fed 2008 Wimbledon final and thus understand your feeling. I'm not an avid Nadal's fan but I love watching his matches. He almost always comes across as a passionate tennis player. He fuels the tennis fire in others.

    Forced vs Unforced Errors

Is this guy or gal, who presses the buttons, required to have any tennis credential? Big matches, such as Grand Slam ones, are worldwide broadcasted and watched by many tennis fans. If these errors are inaccurately labeled, tennis novice like myself will have false impression of what...

    Forced vs Unforced Errors

Having watched pro matches, I sometimes wonder if errors are accurately labeled as forced or unforced; many are obvious, some are not. Are there strict rules that define forced vs unforced errors? Are these errors labeled by TV commentators or umpires?
