Prince Premier Attack 16g Black: Arm friendly or not?

As stated above, mikeler tried the white version of PPA. I have not tried the black, but have tried Volkl Power Fiber II in both white and black and found a significant difference between the two. Different colors can mean different playability.

Is Topspin CF and Gosen OGSM still the best bang for your buck hybrid??

Some people believe using a synthetic gut in your crosses is the way to go, as the poly will dominate in the feel (and somewhat power) department. Less notching/fraying with less fibers should lead to better string snap from the poly which should lead to better spin. I use BHBR 17 in mains...

Volkl Power Fiber II 16 vs. Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 16

Confirmed. PF II Black plays different than the natural. It is stiffer, moves more, and is overall and inferior string. I'm guessing (not an expert in string manufacturing) that the outer coating in black accounts for this difference (same filaments underneath). As previously stated...

Volkl Power Fiber II 16 vs. Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 16

Today I had my first hit with the full bed PF II 17 black. Strung my Redondo 93 at 48M/50C on a NEOS. (Earlier in the week did a hybrid with BHBR, not much to report on that.) I had high hopes for this string, as I've used the KLIP Excellerator 17 and some on these boards say they're the same...

Volkl Power Fiber II 16 vs. Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 16

Have you tried KLIP excellerator? Great feel and durability. I've been using biphase for about 6 months but it doesn't last long for the price. Was going to switch to excellerator having tried it last year. I got the volkl PF ii instead because of the sale. PF ii is supposedly the same string...

Volkl Power Fiber II 16 vs. Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 16

Stocked up on PF ii last week since it's on sale in black. FYI the outer coating feels different in black and it leaves a lot of black marks on balls.

    Gut on my Klippermate?

I did gut crosses (tonic 16/52 lbs/redondo c 93) on my klippermate a few months ago and had no problems.

    Weaving crosses faster

Thanks, Masamusou. The way you describe it is clear and makes perfect sense. I now understand why "one ahead" is easier and therefore faster.

    Weaving crosses faster

Can someone plese explain what this means. "Easier because of the friction from the previous string" is unclear and I'd like to know the physics/reason behind stringing one ahead being faster.

Can I harvest gut from old racquets?

All right. Success! I made a mistake in taking the gut out of the original racquet and ended up with two pieces - one 16.5 ft and the other somewhat shorter. I was sure that this length was too short for my mains and worried it wasn't enough for the crosses (recommended 18ft) but I had plenty...

Can I harvest gut from old racquets?

Thanks for the responses. Yes, it really is "for the fun of it" more than anything. Though there I am bringing a sense of thrift to the (stringing) table. I've only had one gut string job (VS) and that was a couple years ago on one of my MW 200's. I hit with it a few times and then one day...

Can I harvest gut from old racquets?

Good point. I often stop by Goodwill to see if there are any cool racquets. Today I found a Donnay Carbo Mid strung with gut that looks like it's hardly been played with. The frame is in decent shape, and the grommets are wrecked, but really I paid $8 for the string. I'm going to pull it and...

Can I harvest gut from old racquets?

Is natural gut playable if I pull it from an old racquet (one piece) and then restring it in my current frame (just the crosses as there won't be enough length for the whole frame)?

    thin replacement grips

I really like the Dunlop Hydramax Pro. Thin so I can feel the countours almost as well as leather. I found the black to be substantially tackier than the white. The black also has better durability - replacing the grip every couple weeks is about the same cost as overgrips everyday.

    which radical is best?

HOLD UP! It sounds like money is a concern here so before you buy either the MG or LM Radical new, consider these things - -They both come pre-strung with string and tension you don't want. -They've been out long enough where finding one used at a good price is pretty easy A couple...

    Shouldn´t we all play tweeners

I've been playing for around two years and am a decent 3.5 player. My racquet can feel heavy at times, but I'm tall and pretty strong so don't have too much trouble playing with a heavier stick. The thing that keeps me with my Muscle Weave 200g is the feel. When I hit a good shot right in the...

    Replacement for Wilson Reaction 17?

Yeah - I found a couple sites that have enough where I can stock up. I guess I'm thinking I'll buy a few sets of Reaction and keep one Radical strung with it and the other trying out some of these recommendations. Thanks for all the feedback. Keep them coming!

    Replacement for Wilson Reaction 17?

Hey, all. I've been using Wilson Reaction 17 in my LM Radical MP for a couple years and it really works for me. I've tried Babolat Addiction and a couple random hybrid setups but keep coming back to Reaction 17. Now that it's discontinued, any ideas on a very similar string I could use? Thanks

    Video of solid 5.5 players.

I gotta say guys - I've been playing for about a year and a half, I'm in my early thirties, and get to the court 1-3 times a week (more last year). I feel I'm 3.0 - 3.5 and I'm pretty sure I could hang with the guy in the white shirt. He just seems to be dinking/pushing the ball...?

    Wrist Assist Update

Hey, all. Been reading the posts and trading racquets on TT for a few months, but until now haven't felt inclined to post. Really good thread here. I'm considering getting one of these devices. Nice thorough review, drak. And the above link to the article about muscle memory is really cool. Thanks.
