    3.0 to 3.5 and 3.5 to 4.0?? How long??

Totally missed your post, but you're right I do fall under that category ha! I wonder what it is about us (hand eye coordination maybe from trying to hit a baseball)? And I appreciate the confidence, but not sure if I'll make it to 4.5 anytime soon. I'll admit that I haven't played as much as...

    3.0 to 3.5 and 3.5 to 4.0?? How long??

I first picked up a racquet in June of 2013 at 34 years old. Self rated as a 3.0, am athletic and quick (played college baseball/centerfield), and for some reason serving came and topspin ground strokes came naturally to me. Most 3.0 couldn't return my serve or handle my topspin ground...

Decline in 3.5 entries in USTA tournaments

Pretty consistent with me too. I think we're playing in the same major zone :).

    Anyone gamble on their matches?

Not sure if this really counts as betting, but my doubles partner and I have an agreement during tournaments that the person who double faults the most in our match buys lunch/dinner after the match. So far we're about even so it all works itself out. The only time it really sucks is if one...

New Lunar B 1.0 vs. 1.5 including pics

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love this shoe. It is by far my favorite shoe, and if I don't like the Barricades (coming in today!), then these will be the ones I go back to. But with the climate here, the heat is making me try other options.

I used to be! Now I'm up in Dallas.

New Lunar B 1.0 vs. 1.5 including pics

I think just the look of the Barricade made me believe that the ventilation would be better. Even if it's the placebo effect, it might be enough ha! And if I like the Barricades, then I'm definitely getting the ones with Boost.

New Lunar B 1.0 vs. 1.5 including pics

Hey guys, Wanted to update this post since I've been playing in 100+ degree 80%+ humidity temps down here in Texas for the past few months to let you all know how the updates in ventilation did in the heat. While I have to say that the ventilation is night and day compared to the 1.0, it is...

New Lunar B 1.0 vs. 1.5 including pics

Hey guys, just finished the tournament, but unfortunately didn't wear these too much. I played the majority of my matches outdoors (one of the tourney locations was canceled so we lost 10 indoor courts) and it was 38-40 degrees and I actually wanted LESS ventilation to keep my feet warm. I...

New Lunar B 1.0 vs. 1.5 including pics

Hey guys, I just received my LB 1.5's today from TW and I have to say that I love the color way, and the fit is exactly like the 1.0. However, there are three differences I noticed right away. Two of the differences have to do with trying to improve ventilation while the other has to do...

So the pair I bought from TW this morning will actually be the second and not the first?

    Different Lunar Ballistec 1.5s???

That's exactly where I'm at right now. I'm actually hoping the TW version is the wrong photo, and I get the other version. We shall know on Tuesday.

    Different Lunar Ballistec 1.5s???

I just ordered the new 1.5 from TW, but now seeing the "actual" version elsewhere im torn. I've been wishing that the LB had better ventilation which the TW version has, but I like the design of the "actual" version more. I guess I'll know on Tuesday which version I get.

Agree with this. Lunars have way more cushioning than the Vapors. But to be fair, I only wore the CB's and the AMC's about 3 times a piece since the CD's killed my arches (even after I put in aftermarket insoles), and the AMC's just didn't fit right (even after sizing down).

    Quit dissing the Lunar Ballistec

Too hot So I've been a pretty big defender of the LB ever since they came out. I've got three pair of them and they are my favorite shoe out of the ones I've tried out. However, as the Texas summer hit, my biggest fear has come to fruition. These shoes are just too hot for the summer. I've...

    Should he be Dq?

Yeah, in Texas you don't have to self rate for tourneys...the #1 guy in 3.5 hasn't even self rated. Good news is, the only people who qualify for the Texas adult masters championship at the end of the year are computer or tournament rated players. No self rates or non rated players.

    Vapor 9.5 vs Lunar Ballistec

Not close at all. LB is far more durable.

    Vapor 9.5 vs Lunar Ballistec

Agreed, I've owned all three. Love the vapors, and currently love the LBs. Wasn't a fan of the 4.3 because they were too high off the ground for me. The vapors are like wearing socks on the court, and the LB toe box feels almost as close to the ground as the vapors, but the heel is much...

How far do you travel for a USTA tournament?

Exactly! I've driven across the metroplex from Dallas to Fort Worth (about an hour) to hit with friends, and when I get there it takes forever for my body to warm up. Maybe it's because it's usually just for fun, and the adrenaline isn't flowing like in a tournament, but I don't want to risk it.

How far do you travel for a USTA tournament?

That's exactly what I'm scared of when driving the same day. I know how exhausted I am after driving, and can't imagine playing afterward. I wish I could! It would save me a night in a hotel ha!

How far do you travel for a USTA tournament?

I usually come in the night before, but I do have friends who will drive the morning. I guess it all depends on what time the first match is. And that much driving in one month isn't my norm. It's just that three major zones were closely packed together so it just worked out that way.

How far do you travel for a USTA tournament?

Have to agree about Texas. I live in Dallas, and in the past month, I've driven 7 hours to Corpus Christi, 4.5 hours to San Angelo, and 5 hours to Houston for tournaments. Granted, they were all major zones, but driving 3-4 hours is the norm for tournaments. Hell, depending on where you are...

    Official Nike Lunar Ballistec Thread

In my experience they do. I think the cushioning lasts longer on the LB. Cushioning was good on the vapor for about a month for me (I play between 5-12 hours a week depending on if I have a tournament that week or not.). After that, I didn't feel as if I had a lot of cushioning. Also, I'm a...

    Official Nike Lunar Ballistec Thread

So far it's been my favorite shoe. I bought a lot of shoes in the past year to try and find the "right" shoe. Started with the Propulse 4s which I really liked, but were a bit heavy for me, and the heel collar kept giving me blisters. Then went with the vapors, which I loved for about a...

    Official Nike Lunar Ballistec Thread

I had the laser crimson ones in my normal size, and had to wear two pair of socks for it to fit right. I'm between sizes (9.5 in vapor), and when the metallic zinc came out, I ordered that in a 9. Have played about 6 hours in them, and am so much happier that I went a half size down. Fits...
