I Need A New Racket

Strings and Tension I wouldn't reccomend dropping the tension below 55 on any racquet with Babolat's woofer. I would try a more elastic string: Volkl Power-Fiber Babolat Powergy Prince Lightning Power Kirschbaum Touch Turbo

Looking for a new racquet ...

I personaly like the FXP Tour. The FXP Rad MP is (in my opinion) too light. THe FXP Instinct has the same "twang" that ruined the feel of the Liquidmetal series. If you like those racquets you may also want to try: RDX 500 Pure Control Tour Diablo MP (NOT XP) Tour 9 V-Engine

When will the price of nCodes, Flexpoints, etc. drop?

FXP Prestige They will not launch a FXP Prestige. The FXP technology would not work within the range of playability of the Prestige.

    Head Liquid Metal

Numbers on the LMs The numbers are the swing indexes. L6-L1 is control with 6 being the most control oriented. S1-S16 is power with 16 being most power oriented. Ex: LM Prestige= L6 LM 2= S2 LM Radical= L4 LM 8= S8

I'm Kind of a Beginning Player, so could i get a little raquet help

I wouldn't generally reccomend the aeropro drive to a beginner. The racquet is relatively unstable, if you miss the sweetspot it's likely you'll miss the shot. As for the liquidmetal, it is a very good racquet, but the flexpoint is better. The LM series lacks much spin potential which the...

    Recreational Racquets

rec racquets Recreational racquets are fine, in fact most of them are incredibly similar to their competitive counterparts. Recreational racquets may not meet the needs of a competitive player, that doesn't make them worse racquets though. It doesn't matter anyway, racquet selection is entirely...

    New Racquet Thread

Racquets To Try I'd go with the technifibre, it's a good solid racquet. If you like the PC try the AeroPro of it. Also look into the FXP instinct.

    making powerholes

Custom PH are possible, Henin-Hardenne actually uses the nTour with power holes drilled in it. I'm not sure how to do it though.

    Volkl 'V-Engines' and string breakage...

Strings It was likely a bad set. The V-Engine only lenghtens the mains, somee normally constructed frames have longer main strings and they don't break more easily. If it is a consistant problem, I would reccomend that you get the racquet strung elsewhere; it's likely that whoever is stringing...

agassi does use the fxp os (107) but with a custom prince pallet, the one used on the turbo shark, he has lead tape on his frame, but it is painted over coria has 1 inch added to his pallet, something any customizer should be able to do

Does a Smaller Grip Produce a Heavier Ball?

grip size... the truth smaller grip sizes do nothing but allow for the raquet to torque in your hand. too small a grip also poses the threat of causing arm problems, even if you don't know it. too small a grip overworks your forearm muscles

    Which racquet to use.

racquet selection alot depends on what YOU want. there is no "best" beginner racquet. if you want something inexpensive prince makes the best stuff. if money is no object, then reply to this and i'll help you find something that works.

    Is this the real thing?

Fakes All three are real. The top two are regular pure drives. The third is also real, just the pure drive OS... an official Babolat racquet. Examined the pictures and found no evidence that they were fakes. I string, customize, review, and sell racquets... so I have a bit of experience.

    Lead tape for me?

sweetspot the sweetspot moves with the weight. it is important to consider other things when taping too. 1. always counter balance in the handle 2. taping also changes the momentum of the raquet, head speed will increase with increased weight. therefore taping may not be the answer if you...
