V9 are definitely stiffer but otherwise similar. I found my v9 needed less weight in the handle to get to my desired balance point so the overall static weights are lower. The v8 feel more plush and muted.

That’s basically my exact spec of my v8s. High 350 to low 360g strung. I added a leather grip, 7 gram lead weight to the butt cap and another 15 grams of tungsten putty. Despite the high static weight the balance was very whippy which suits my style.

Wondering what people’s unstrung specs were on v9 18x20. My first one was 306g and 32cm balance my second one was 307g and 32.3cm balance and the swing weight is noticeably higher and frame is less whippy.

Are you sure it’s not fake? Wilson qc is bad but not that bad

Blade pro won’t change it’s just a repaint each gen

I got a second v9 and it was of course off spec because I didn’t get to hand pick it. 309g with the plastic on handle 307g without which is fine but the balance was 32.3 cm instead of 32, like my first one which was on spec. Ended up settling with adding 11 grams of putty to the butt cap vs 7...

100% agree min 32cm balance strung ideal is 31.75

North America is one of the last markets some manufacturers are actually still selling manual sports cars. Take rate on manuals for BMW M2/3 the last few gens was actually pretty good in the US

I still use 31.5 strung and I’ll sacrifice and add just about any amount of weight to the handle to get this balance.

11 grams of tungsten putty in butt cap. 337g strung with og dampener and 1.15 poly. 31.5 balance

Picked one up and came strung with confidential. Weight is 322 which is on spec but balance is 33cm which is too head heavy according to the published spec. Any guesses on the swing weight?

Head size looks a lot larger than 2 sq inches on speed vs blade 98 maybe it’s the shape. Also the beam thickness is pretty different with the speed feeling a lot chunkier

Nothing in the head line up plays like blade 18x20. I’ve owned Rad MP, Exteme tour, prestige mp, speed pro and mp, gravity pro. None of them are that close.

Agree 90% is hype and most these strings hyped by YouTubers won’t stand the test of time. I tried most of them and they were nothing special. Toroline was awful in particular. I’d say Hyper G is pretty proven now it’s still popular with rec and pros after 5+ years

The general public that the marketing is trying to sway can’t tell a bit of difference between paint jobs from different generations. Unless you made the speed line pink it doesn’t matter what paint job Sinner is using.

I don’t remember what my v5 felt like it’s been a while but the v9 is way stiffer than v8 and even v6 non cv recent re-release. Same string I had to go down 5-6 lbs for my wrist to not be sore. I had no problems with the v8.

I agree and I don’t think that stiffness translates to more power. That may be because my v8 are customized to 15 grams more which gives a ton of power but the v8 hits a harder ball

Still using the same string as my v8 18x20s. MSV Focus Hex Ultra 1.15. Had to go way down in tension from 50 in v8 to 43 lbs in v9. My v8 are a lot heavier static weight to achieve my preferred balance of 32CM also the v9 feels a lot stiffer and was making my wrist a bit sore at 47 lbs +

For those that want to talk weight your blades good news the backside of the v9 trap door shape has changed from a square to a rectangle and you can drop in a 7 gram or 1/4 oz wheel balancing weight into it.

Your launch angle and clearance over the net is pretty high so not surprised the 100 works better for you vs 18x20. How is the 100 if you flatten out shots?
