    Strings setups for a 95S or 97S

I've played with both and for me completely different string setups. The 95S had a very open string pattern. The 97S even though it's a "SpinEffect" racquet the strings are fairly closely spaced. So in the 95S I played with Wilson Revolve / Ripspin at around 54lb or 4G again around that same...

The Pro Staff line consists of the 97 sq in frames. Like you I've played with Pro Staffs for years. The 97S has to me the closest feel to some of the older generation Pro Staffs. It's the racquet I play with mainly. I'd give that a try and see how it suits your game. -Peter

That's part of the grommet strip. The new RF97 also has a more flush-fitting grommet strip in general to give a nicer overall aesthetic look.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: 2016 Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph

I think you are unfortunatly making a lot of guesses and incorrect assumptions about a paint and product you have not actually experienced and have no knowledge of as well as comparing it to a different paint from a different manufacturer using a different process with technology from years ago...

    Wilson Version Numbers

The v11.0 is for "Pro Staff" series names - it does get a bit 'complex' with Six.One intermixed there, but really the focus for v11.0 and previous iterations is for just the Pro Staff lineage. Other families like the Blade would have their own version numbering that's totally independent of the...

The K88 is part of the K-Factor product line that is already mentioned on that diagram. The diagram, and the version number on the new racquets refers to the product line generation of the Pro Staff and not specific models within it. So the new 2016/2017 Pro Staff line is the 11th generation of...

Thanks :) Good answer. I am not qualified / knowledgeable enough about string patterns to answer properly and Nathan has limited time to be on here unfortunately . We are trying to focus on questions more about the new design, working with Roger, etc as that's something I can reply to. There are...

The red butt caps will be on all racquets. It's a nice strong branding piece. And Roger in particular liked the "surprise" (as he called it) color pop there. Plus it didn't hurt those are the Swiss colors as well. - Peter

Yes exactly. Specs on racquet are always listed as unstrung. Thanks. Strings can vary in weight depending on type and gauge of string so it's less accurate to consider strung balance unless all racquets are strung with identical strings. I've seen string weights range from well under 15g to over...

I can't give you too much relevant info here as the prototype was not a final one so the balance was closer to 3pt HL and not 6pt HL like the final retail version is. I'm actually looking forward to trying the new 97S final production version. I will let you know any updates once I've had a...

The current 97S is 3pt HL (unstrung). The new one will be 6pt HL (unstrung). That's the same as the Blade 98 for instance. - Peter

    6.1 95 inch to pro staff 97s

Adding some weight (try 10g) to handle will get it closer to the 6.1 95. The 97S is my favourite racquet. However you can also try the Pro Staff 97. It's a nice and easy to play with racquet - it's always in my bag too. - Peter

The PS97S has never been a 16x15 string pattern - it's always been 18x17. The PS95S from 2+ years ago was a 16x15 but it was replaced by the PS97S. - Peter

PS97S & Dimitrov Prototype Frame Observations

It's still a 19.5mm beam thickness ... that has not changed. it's just the edges of the frame are more squared off - it's a minor visual difference. - Peter

PS97S & Dimitrov Prototype Frame Observations

Two main differences: - goes from 3pt HL (unstrung) to 6pt HL (unstrung) - the frame geometry become more 'boxy' And it gets the new design similar to the RF97 but with red 3&9 and Wilson logo accents. Same Black Velvet paint, same laser / metallic lettering, same attention to details as the...

We actually refer to the finish as "Black Velvet" and I think that's a much more accurate description than 'elastic' (I'm guilty of using that term myself!) as elastic gives the impression the finish is rubbery which it's not. It's a smooth, soft, matte finish. - Peter

This paint is not the same paint as on the racquets you listed. It's been specifically engineered and tested to give a soft (but not rubbery) feel yet perform well on tennis racquets. I think one you hold one in your hand you will see how it's a very nice and unique finish and unlike the finish...

This was just a discussion directly about the new 97S model which is 19.5mm (as was the 2014 model) but simply has a more 'boxy' shape . The RF97 frame is unchanged. Apologies for any confusion :) - Peter

I can answer a couple of these... 1) the racquet comes with a little booklet showing you Roger's history with the Pro Staff and also a custom poly bag in a matching design 2) The grip comes in the standard Wilson 1-5 sizes / shape - Peter
