The two supremely gifted ballstrikers put on a thrilling show for 5 sets, with Nalbandian taking the first 2, but Baghdatis, spurred on by the supportive crowd of Greek Australian fans, mounted a comeback push to level the match. He continued his form into the 5th set and brought himself to the verge of victory, serving for the match when rain interrupted.
