Adidas Adizero Hats

Tried on the Adidas Adizero hats on my XL head. Surprisingly the Small/Medium hat fit but was tight and the Large/XL was a perfect fit. Do these hats stretch out over time? If so, maybe I should go with the Small/Medium one instead of the on that fit off the shelf.

I also tried on the Adidas Adizero hat with the velcro closure on the back and it fit great too. Can I trust the velcro to stick without coming loose?

Thanks,

Barry

I only have the one with the velcro closure. Whether it sticks or not really depends on how much of the velcro you have sticking to the fluff. If you don't have enough on it may come loose, at least for me. It really is the only thing dodgy about the hat, otherwise it is probably one of the best tennis hats out there.

Also have an XL head. Haven't tried the adizero caps but bought a couple of large/xl adidas grandslam hats last year (the one with sm/med and large/xl).

At first they fit snug but after a few trips to the washer it just wouldn't fit, and my wife got 2 used hats.

Sticking to visors for now

No issues with the pseudo-Velcro yet for me; my advice on stretch fit caps is to get the loosest one that fits well. I find that I get headaches from the bloody cap squeezing my head (I have a big head, too).

I bought an Adizero a few years ago along with a Featherlite. The velcro was not very good and the tops do rust after a while. Does feel like a GHOAT in many ways though. If they made improvements to it, it would be an ideal substitute. Unfortunately they haven't yet.

I walked into the Nike outlet and bough 3 GHOATS for 7.99 each. Not sure what you are talking about, but it wasn't that bad. Sucks they are out of production, it actually makes zero sense. I am hoping the new FLs took all the good qualities from the GHOAT and forged a new superhat.

I would rank the Adizero as the best tennis hat that is easily available. But it is not the best out there. Sorry ADiman. I am a big fan of adidas clothing though. I would say I am split right down between Nike and Adi in terms of ownership. The next question is if Adidas can make socks as good as the Nike Elites.

But the adiZero cap doesn't have a button on top...so there is nothing there to rust.

I confused cap names. I meant the Grand Slam through my whole post. The Adizero is not very ghoat like to me.

I don't care about the technical qualities of the GHOAT; if there aren't three stripes on it, it's intrinsically inferior. ;) I fixed my Grand Slam cap with a dab of Rustoleum on the bottom of the button, by the way...

I'm not brand loyal. Don't care that much. Comfort and durability are my 2 major concerns. That is why I love the ghoat hats. For you it appears to be an argument where you have to be the winner because you wear Adidas. That's weird to me. Since you put a wink face every time, I guess that's your passive aggressive way of denying that it's a big deal to you.

Regardless, I will probably give the grand slam another shot if the new Nike hats are not that good. And I will use the rustoleum tip, so I thank you for that.

Man, it just doesn't matter with you guys. Why can't you stop attacking me? I make a joke -a JOKE - and you turn it into me being "passive aggressive." I'm not trying to be "the winner" of anything. And I am not trying to deny ANYthing about it being "a big deal" to me. The wink means my comments are intended to be tongue in cheek, but maybe you can't understand that I am really just having a bit of fun. I've stated my reasons for my remarks on this subject a thousand times. I prefer adidas. I don't like Nike. My opinion only. I find the GHOAT thing "weird" and simultaneously amusing and scary. Whatever. Why must you guys pursue me to the end of the Earth on this stuff? If you don't like what I have to say, DON'T RESPOND TO MY POSTS. I thought I'd be safe since this isn't a GHOAT thread - it's an adidas thread, for Heaven's sake! - but I was clearly wrong. Gadzooks. I'm honestly not trying to be nasty or hostile; just trying to have fun. But the GHOAT Police haunt my every step...

"if there aren't three stripes on it, it's intrinsically inferior" . you said it not me.

Also "Adidas 1, Evil One 0". You are the one who says these things. I don't make you do it. Stop whining when you are called out.

We know you consider the Nike thing weird. You trolled the thread multiple times and came back over and over even when you said you were going to leave. That is weird.

I was responding to the OP just as much as you. We all want to wear comfortable hats when we play tennis. You are the brand loyalist here, not me.

Those are meant to be humorous comments. (Even though I believe them to be true. JOKE. JOKE. JOKE. There - obvious enough now?) I am not whining about being "called out;" I'm whining about you taking me so bloody seriously. What do you think I'm trying to accomplish here? Really???!?

I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish. That is what makes it so weird.
That's just it. I am not trying to accomplish anything, man. I'm just having fun, stating my preference. That is IT. That is ALL. OK? I'm not trying to make you feel bad about liking the GHOAT, I'm not trying to put Nike out of business, I'm not trying to persuade everyone to buy only adidas as I do. One brand is no fun, because no one brand can be everything to everyone. Nike has done great things for the industry, although they've driven prices up and done some unnecessarily salacious advertising. They are an American behemoth, just the way most Americans like their behemoths - big and oppressive and clout-wielding and monolithic. I don't happen to like that, but that's just my opinion. (They're also technologically advanced and always striving to get better, which is a very good thing. They all feed off each other and push each other, the big companies, which is why the competition between them is a good thing.) And adidas represent history, both in terms of their corporation's longevity and their roster of former greats. Rod Laver wore adidas - and still does - which is why I became an adidas fan back in the Seventies. I just happen to be very brand loyal in general, but no more so than with adidas. That's it, really. That's all. I just want to say what I want to say without being attacked for no real reason. Disagree if you want, but don't try to turn me into some kind of Internet thug or "troll." Like what you want. Wear what you want. Wear what works for you. Be happy. Have fun. Play well. OK?

Well to wrap this up in a nice bow, like I said I am all about comfort and durability..especially in a hat. So I would reccomend the OP tries out the Grand Slam hat if he has troubles with Adizero.

Or try some of the excellent Nike caps - I hear they make a fine product. ;) (Wow, it hurt to type that...)
