My usual rackets in the past have been so-called player's rackets (HL, 12oz+). I'm currently hitting with the AeroPro Drive and like just about everything about it, except it has kind of a "light" feel to it. I know I can add lead to it, however, I was wondering if the heavier AeroPro Control has the playing characteristics of the AeroPro Drive (especially maneuverability & serve capability), with more of the weighted feel of a traditional players racket. Can anyone comment on this ? TIA.

I was wondering the opposite. I currently use the Aeropro Control + and am considering a switch to the Drive. I can tell you that both the Control and Control + are comfortable frames considering their stiffness. They serve well, and swing much lighter than their listed swingweights. If you could call them "player's racquets" then they are certainly the most powerful player's racquets I have ever used.

I didn't have any problems with maneuverability. Obviously, the Std. is more maneuverable than the +.

Was weight the only problem you had with the drive? How were serves, control and feel?

Basically, weight is the only possible problem I seem to have with the AeroPro Drive right now, though I don't know that I'd really call it a problem. It might just be something I'm not used to. Let me preface my feedback by saying that I've only used the APDrive in drills/practice and not in matches. The APD may be the best serving racket I've ever used. It's really made serving much easier with less effort. Great pop, spin, placement and consistency. Also, I've found it to be a great volley racket and very good with service returns. Groundstrokes have been generally very controlled, except the last time I hit with it where my timing seemed to be really off. I kind of attribute that to the racket weight, but maybe I was just having a bad day. Also, groundstrokes don't have the plow thru effect of a heavier racket, which I guess should be expected with a tweener class racket. As far as feel/touch, I found it to have more than I expected, especially with volleys. At least for me. Anyway, you can find a lot more feedback at this thread, called AeroProDrive http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=40526

Thanks for feedback on the AeroPro Control. It sounds like I should give it a hit.
