Any tension recomendations for Champion's Choice?

I am going to try Wilson's Champion's Choice soon and am looking for recommendations on tension. I am concerned about the tension because one time i tried some Lux ALU strings in a hybrid and they gave me elbow/wrist pain. Although I had them in the mains with gut crosses and the tension on both was 58 or 59 pounds. This was probably too high. So with the Champion's Choice I am going to put the Wilson Gut in the mains and the Luxilon ALU Rough in the crosses a la Federer.

I am planning to do the Lux in the crosses at 53 pounds and the Gut in the mains at 58 pounds. Just want to make sure the Lux is not too tight to avoid the stiffness and arm pain. My racquet is the Wilson nSix-One nCode 95 (16x18) and I am a 4.0 to 4.5 player.

Is the five pound tension difference too much? Is the Lux tension I am aiming for too low? Any other thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated?

Thanks.

Before you purchase the string, I heard thet Wilson gets their gut from Babolat, and that lately, the gut in Champions choice is yellower than before, and the quality is questionable. A better solution would be to purchase the lux. and VS gut separately, and make your own hybrid Champions choice, that way you get the same poly, and the best grade of gut, and you will have enough string for another set up.Just a suggestion.

The tension is personal preference. If you like the gut at 58, then the 53 for the lux. makes sense.

I agree with this, very logical and u string 2 stix instead of jus 1.

I have been playing with this set up for nearly a year now (gut mains, ALU crosses) and I have fiddled quite a bit with tensions.

My preference is 59 (gut main)/55 or 56 (ALU crosses). I tried 60/57 and it ended up feeling great towards the end, but not initially.

53 on the crosses sounds a bit low.

All of the above on a Dunlop 500 Tour (which is a 100 squ in racquet).

Your earlier arm/wrist pain . . . 58 or 59 on the ALU sounds a bit tight.

How does gut mains/alu crosses differ from alu mains/gut crosses?

I thought mains contribute to the spin more so shouldn't the poly be in the mains? Crosses being attributed with power would be gut.

I don't understand the other setup.

I tried both ways, and the gut in mains feels and plays more like a gut string, where the lux. mains hits more like a poly.If you want more of the feel, and playability of the gut, use it in the mains.I believe there have been other posters say the opposite of this, but after I tried this out for myself, this is how it performed for me.My main racquets are all nat. gut, and I just stopped using a hybrid of gut mains, and lux. crosses in my extra racquets so I would be more consistant with what I was using, and I like and know how an all nat. gut set up plays. But there was no doubt to me that gut mains plays more like gut, and poly mains plays more like a poly, at least to me.
