cold weather, hot weather

Ok, im posting a lot but i got a match tonight and i'm always second guessing my racquet tension during match cause it feels good sometimes and sometimes it feels completely different even if i'm doing same tension everytime.. But want to know following that might be culprit..

1. Cold weather will get strings tighter correct? How fast does this happen.. i've been playing for about 20-30 minutes in 50 degree weather but realize it seemed stiffer...

2. Leaving the racquet in he car in winter weather is not a good idea i'm guessing... but what happens? just gets stiffer? I forget sometimes to bring my bag in.. i guess that's why some bags have thermogaurd (wondering if it helps at all though)...

3. What happens in summer weather (here in seattle it doesn't get super hot so let say 80 degrees no humidity)

4. Leaving racquet in room temperature in bag for week or more does anything happen to strings?

Cold weather makes the strings tighter because it shrinks.

Cold weather can cause your strings to snap in the car. It has happened to me. I had three sets of strings snap in one night when I accidentally left my rackets in my car and it got down to -20F. I went to pull out a racket to play indoors the next day and all three of my rackets had to be restrung. Strings can only take so much shrinkage.

The strings loosen up. Pro players can vary their string tensions easily 5-6 pounds depending on the temperature.

4. Leaving racquet in room temperature in bag for week or more does anything happen to strings?

That's what you want to do. The last thing you want to do to a string job is putting it into extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
