I am seeing you playing today in Paris, in front of a packed stadium full of Freenchmen and playing against one. I see you winning also, and it amazes me how after you beat their guy, the ovation for you is as loud, the love professed to you by everybody: tournament directors, helpers, executives, opponent, fans, makes me think if we will ever have some other athlete in our sport like you. It takes a high level of graciousness, humbleness, respect, all qualities you have as abundant as your tennis talent.

Hope many kids will look up to you and make us proud!

I don't know if we'll ever seen someone that is loved as much as Federer. It's almost as though he really really really enjoys playing tennis. Granted he loves to win, but it's almost like he could be happy just playing also. Agassi said he never really loved to play just a way to something he wanted. Sampras, he seemed as long as he was winning he enjoyed playing. I remember watching Sampras when I was a kid thinking man this guy is the bomb, now that I watch him, I realize he was/is a massive *****.
