Did Rublev's Doubles Championship Affected his Singles Semifinal Loss in Doha?

Bautista Agut played a great match against Rublev and hit the Russian's corners better. Yet, the few close misses when Rublev sidestepped to his forehand aiming for Agut's backhand corner seemed as a hangover from the Russian's doubles' competition. In the second set alone, in some crucial moments Rublev put about 4-5 balls out, which were in the doubles area ok, at Agut's backhand side. So, were those unforced errors a hangover from the Russian's doubles matches? Can playing doubles be detrimental for the singles?

I think Rublev might have been hurt by making the semifinals without playing a match due to a bye and two walkovers. It is tough when your first match in a tournament is against a tough opponent like RBA who won the title at Doha two years ago after beating an in-form Novak in the semifinal. RBA is playing with a lot of confidence.

Agut had great confidence too coming off beating Thiem. Thiem may be struggling but it's still a good scalp.

IMO, Overplaying and tiredness was the reason behind Rublev's graceless exit from Doha.

Either way the analysis of the match he lost is to be looked at.

Lol, then his singles match might have helped his doubles win. What could've been a better practice than real match?

OP must mean all the doubles matches leading up to the singles final.

In any case, Doubles is not going to tire any athlete.

Like Rublev, Fed would have been well advised to play Doubles and get in more match play, given that he was not concerned with results -- especially with his singles BYE, but maybe Fed was not fit enough to play both Doubles and Singles.

Yeah, since in this case Rublev played his singles semi-final before his doubles final, I just jested his singles might have been a great pre-match warm up for his doubles.

Sounds as if the doublers don't break a sweat. My thought's into the area of accuracy rather than the energy levels of players however. I suggested, in my OP, that Rublev had a few outs in the singles court area when aiming for Agut's backhand corner which happened in the crucial parts of his second semifinal set. Those Rublev's attempts to hit winners there ended in almost the same area which was the corner for the doubles court...4 or 5 of them in almost the same area. So, could it have been that Rublev's technique from his doubles interfered his singles semifinal match in those crucial moments and under the pressure?
