Do you serve every time you play? Do you play points every time?

Lately, I've been in a rally rut. I just rally. Not really playing matches.

Every time I hit, I make sure to serve at least 10-20 serves.
I also make sure to play at least one TB towards the end.

If you get into a rally rut, your game will suffer unless you make a point of playing actual tennis, as well.
Use it or lose it

There is no ‘one size fits all’ strategy. There are players who hardly play any matches and probably need to practice their serve and point play more. I play >250 matches a year and so I need my twice-a-week practices where I mostly work on footwork drills, specific shots etc. - although it is not uncommon in practice to play TBs or crosscourt points with serves at the end.

I agree, no one size fits all.
I rally once a week (no serving) and play twice a week.
My serve though is definitely the weakest part of my game.
The rally part is to work mostly on my newish FH.

For me it depends to some extent on the skill level of my rally partners, I'm currently rallying way too much but one of my main partners is much better than me and i'd have trouble getting more than maybe a game off him, and a couple others it's the opposite. I don't really enjoy playing sets under either scenario. So we just end up hitting, sometimes playing out points, sometimes with serving so do get some serve practice in. I don't mind doing that at all but would prefer to play more than I am.
