Donnay Formula 2 Xenecore

So I bought a used Donnay Formula 100 of the bay last week. However it look like a different version but still black with orange lettering. See pics below.

It looks slightly different than the 2012 version. Inside the hoop where it said "Donnay" in the 2012 version it says "ArmHealth" and "Xenecore"on this racket. Where it says "Formula" on the 2012 version, it says "Formula 2". I contacted Xenecore tennis about possibly getting another racket like this and they said the 2016 Formula GT version is the production racket of the racket I have.

Can anyone shed some light on this? My understanding is the specs of the 2016 version (matte/gloss silver black) is different than both the 2012 version (black/orange lettering) and 2014 version (red/black). Thanks!

Doesnt look like quadcore to me. I will let donnay expert chime in. My 2016 quad formula has 4 chambers in the handle

I'd be willing to bet it is a Dual Core frame, and the foam went over the divider. Or it could be a single core (highly doubtful), if it is super soft, then this would be the case. Not suggesting you do it, but you could scrape away a quarter inch of the foam and see if it reveals the hairpin chambers (I would guess there are two chambers) We need @TinTin 1 to give it a shot!!!

so let me take a stab at this

2012 Version (black/orange lettering, matte)=dual core
2014 Version (black/red/glossy)=dual core
2016 Version (silver. matte-glossy)=quad core

are the 2012 and 2014 versions the same spec wise?

It actually looks like a first try at a tri or quad core, but it's messy. They refined the process over a year of testing. I had some tri cores that said the same thing in white lettering , when testing product.

i haven't played with it yet.. wife and I just welcomed a baby boy to our family!! I get to try it out at tennis workout at lunch... I play with Pure Aero currently.. I bought this on **** just curious to see how it plays..

I strung it with Hyper-G @45 lbs 2 piece on a dropwieght..

I was the only one at the workout so basically i was having a private lesson.. however most of the time we worked on hitting drop shots.. he said he wanted to work on the shot most people don't practice on...I tell you.. I learned to hit a real good forehand drop shot.. anyways I didnt get to hit too many groundies but I think I need some lead in the hoop for some more plow.. I like the racket for serving flat and kicks..also I am not sold on hyper-g....

hopefully next week i can hit more groundies and volleys

just a bump...any donnay experts know which version this racket is? thinking of getting another one.. if i can find one.. I added some tungsten ( 2grams total at 3&9).

Thanks! sleepless nights right now.. he's almost 3 months.. but he's starting "talk" and is playful when not crying..hahha
