East Bay 4.5 hitting?

Will be in Emeryville off and on the next 6 months. I'm a strong 4.5, 55 yrs old, play big tournaments in my age group. Singles or dubs. Have access to a nice club in Alameda if necessary but will drive 30 min to public cts for a good hit. Use srob12 at hotmail and when we connect will provide cell, etc.

Have you ever been to Washington Park in Alameda on 8th St? There is a pretty good USTA 4.5 team out of there, some good dubs players in particular. Not sure when they play, some used to practice around lunchtime, but I think most go there after work hours.

There are some good players at Harbor Bay Club as well in Alameda if you can manage to meet anyone from there. I work in Alameda and would love to hit with you, but I'm on the shelf for a few months with TE.

Did I mention I used to drop by Wash park back around '00? I'd been playing maybe 10 days a year for the past 5 years then, probably a poor example of a 4.0 then, and played mostly pickup doubles with the old farts who have pretty decent forehands, no backhands, lobbed a lot, where nice guys, and none could come close to returning my serves or handling my groundstokes.
BUT, Billie the scab instructor there took it upon himself to beat me maybe 5 out of 7 two set matches. He'd seen I hadn't been playing, and chopped and lobbed me until we were on court for 2+ hours and I capitulated. Of course, I needed to go kitesurfing at CrownBeach, which is why I was there in the first place.
RobFL is a pretty cool guy, a nice controlled 4.5, can volley really well, has a controlled topspin return of serve. Hope you guys meet up. I think he's back in Florida until around the 20th of this month, when he comes back. We met and played a few doubles sets last Friday.

Hey Lee, thanks for the endorsement!! You can play the Dubs! Those were fun games. Hit for a little while this morning at san pablo and will be back there tomorrow looking to hit. Playing in the Berkeley TC tourn this week so i need the practice and have to switch back from clay to hard. Rob

My brother is a member at Harbor TC so if there's any 4.5 members there reading this, i think he made arrangements for me to play there.

I went by today, but it was packed, and I have to rock the fireplace brick before I can start on the floor of our house.
I guess you missed the OaklandCity at Davies last week, too bad.
Good playing with you, it was the highlight of my tennis month.
