Stop talking, gentlemen...
Again – quoted myself, from a few pages back – here is the ONLY reason why he lost :

He just lost because today – for the first time in RF history – he was wearing too many colors :

White (short, bandana swoosh)
Distance Blue (polo main color)
Prize Blue (polo colar and details, bandana, wristband swoosh)
Light Armory Blue (polo swoosh and details, wristband stripe)
Armory Navy (wristband, short swoosh and belt detail)
Armory Slate (shoes)
Atomic Red (shoes)
Geyser Grey (shoes swoosh)
Old and Tired Green (face...)

Who retires at the US Open?????????????

James Blake. :)

I think will play at least another 2 years. He's not ready to retire, though I think it's clear he's not wining another major again.

I do think he should retire after this season.

Seeing Becker being dominated by Pete was a very sad experience for me as child. It wasn't so much Becker declining but rather being bested by someone else. With Federer it's quite a bit different now because I'm an adult and as much as I love Fed he's not my hero or anything like that but it is a bit of a bummer not only seeing him being bested on the reg by Nadal but now also seeing his decline.
As a fan I'm not sure if would like to see him go on or call it quits. Just hope he's happy. He's brought me a lot of joy watching his matches over the years and just hope he's genuinely happy if decides to keep going for a while or retires soon.

The guy makes more money in one month than most people make in a lifetime.

He plays tennis for a living, he has a family already and will be retired by the age of about 35 (most people are lucky to retire at 70).

I think the guy is happy.

Just caught a glimpse at the highlights. Some games he was the usual Federer and the others he was playing like a #300 ranked guy. He needs fire Annacone. He's caught between playing rallies and trying to shorter the points as per Annacone's advice. One really dumb thing I'm seeing this year is that he is trying Server & Volley on his 2nd serve and that too when guys are standing way behind baseline. I also think his body is either tired or he's become lazy. He simply doesn't want to play long matches. Look at the losses this year, almost all straight sets defeat. Back in his day even Nadal barely got a straight set victory against Federer.

I think he should not play for the rest of the year. Take some rest, forget about tennis and enjoy life. Then start training hard from December end and start well from Brisbane. I don't know whether anyone else observed this but Federer is not enjoying playing Tennis on court, even in his straight set victory. He's thinking too much during the match. He should accept that he has achieved all he could and just try to enjoy the game as long he can. His natural talent and instincts will take care of the decision making. Just go back to basics and forget the past. There's nothing more to prove, just play some good tennis and enjoy.

How would you feel and react when ****** would kick Joker's thin butt in open at Arthur Ashe - assuming "Muzzita, the royal king of Scotland" will let Joker reach the final in the first place?
Would you show up?

I always show up win, lose or draw. 8)

The terrible 2013:eek:. Wasnt this the only match he lost to Robredo? The ultimate joke is that this was the only year Rafa managed to reach the final at Cincy, thats their rivalry in a nutshell:oops:.

Fed tanked this match to avoid Nadal. It was bloody obvious.
Why? To keep Us Open clean, that is - only slam where Nadal didn't break him apart.

Ugh. Why is the hideous memory of this match being brought back??

Delete thread and whoever brought it back from the dead.
