Forehand Slice with Western Grip

Everyone I heard from seems to say forehand slice with a western grip is very difficult. Out of all the shots I have been learning the past few months the backhand slice with the western forehand seems the easiest to me  I just torque my wrist CW and pull the racket down, if I angle the racket right it also makes for an incredible lob that always lands in right around the baseline.

Anyways, was just wondering why many people find it so difficult. I'm really glad to have mastered this shot cause it slows the pace down when you are trying to defend and lets you get back into position. I find personally the shot is just a continuation of the motion you use to hit flat with a western forehand... So you can change your mind pretty quickly to try and hit a high paced winner or slow paced defender.

I guess when they say hard they mean hard on the wrist, luckily my wrist is flexible and my tendonitis isn't aggraated by the motion (thank god).

I use a western grip, but when I hit slices with my forehand (which isn't often), I switch to a continental.

Did you mean to write backhand slice or forehand slice?

forehand slice with western is easy? seems odd to me as it already puts the racquet in a downfacing angle...it seems continental would be MUCH easier to hit slice shots

Nope, slice... I agree it involves twisting the wrist a fair ammount to get the racket face in the right plane, but it still doesn't seem that difficult.

My wrist breaks just trying to attempt it, but not to say that it is impossible. The number 10 on our team has a SW forehand grip and hits a wicked short slice that is really hard to lift back over the net. Man, my wrist hurts just thinking of it...
