Gamma 5003 vs. Gamma 6004 6 pt SC

Hi,

Can anyone describe the differences between the Gamma 5003 and Gamma 6004 (6pt SC version)? I am trying to understand what constitutes the price difference. Based on another thread, I understand the 6004 maintains 360 degree rotation with the Wise upgrade. Will the 5003 also keep it's 360 degree rotation?

The clamp bases would be the BIGGEST difference. 6004 gets you the switch action clamps, much nicer to use but either will function just fine.

It also appears that the mounting towers are not the same, and perhaps the turntable is different??

otherwise, functionally i'd say primarily it's only the baseclamps that will differ.

edit: the machines on Gamma site, 5003 has different towers than TW site, also different from the 6004.
turntables appear to be the same, from what i can tell...

Two main differences on the 6pt SC between 5003 and 6004:

On the 5003 SC, you get "quick" action clamps, but not "switch" action, the latter being preferable if you can afford it.

Also, the mounting on the 6004 is nicer. You turn just a single knob to move the towers in/out, and a single knob on either end to move the shoulder mounts in/out simultaneously.

The 5003 has more knobs (one of each shoulder mount). Thus, it's not as quick, or as pleasant to use (but still gets the job done just fine).

The clamps, self centering, and side support system (as sstchur described) are the price difference.

If you do not use the Gamma adapter which raises the Wise up 2" you will maintain 360* rotation with both stringers but you will have to use the Diablo.
