Hand speed drills for ground strokes and spin serves

One of the things I noticed when warming up with a South American pro is the incredible amount of spin he can generate with a compact stroke.

I think one of the reasons he can do this comes from growing up doing "Spanish style" tennis hand-fed drills to develop fast "hand speed".

I found these drills from Connecting Tennis to develop "hand speed" on your forehand
and spin serves.

But I've not seen much emphasis on "hand speed" drills from other online coaches - almost everything is focused on the "kinetic chain" (generating fast racquet head speed by pushing up from the ground.)

What do TT coaches think? Worth doing?

Shadow swings without the racket.
First try to swing the whole arm fast, then try to swing only the hand fast ( just like throwing a ball). That’s what this topic is all about.
