Professional
PDR and the MicroGel Prestige MP or Pro or K 6.1 95 18x20

I currently have 2 PDRs and they are proving way too powerful. I mean they were great when I was growing as a tennis player, but now since I can supply my own pace, PDRs are proving that they are way too powerful. I don't want to tension my strings in the 60s because I tried it once and I hated that. I'm beginning to feel that control oriented games are going to better benefit my game style.

I know I should demo the MP, Pro and the 6.1s, but I wanted everyone's input on this :D

Semi-Pro
PDR, they are in different classes entirely. Few I know who would consider the PDR would ever consider the others or vice versa. Depending on your skill level, both the Microgel prestige and the k95 18x20 are excellent racquets and a relatively close match. I have played with both extensively and will give you my thoughts. Your mileage may vary. For reference I used the liquidmetal prestige for 5 years and am in the process of switching to the K95 18x20.

Microgel
pluses= amazing control and feel. Hit as had as you want and have excellent control and placement. Pretty heavy but have a reasonable swingweight (around 325 or so SW). Excellent touch and plenty of pop if you have the strokes. Great Maneuverability.

Minus=If you can't hit the relatively small sweet spot consistently you will not like this racquet. Relatively flexible compared to the K95. You must supply your own pop. Always. Once you adjust to hitting out always you should be ok.
K95
pluses =way more pop than the microgel (if that is what you want) relatively similar weight. Stong ground strokes. If out of position you can block back anything with solid contact. Plenty of topspin with the 18x20 for me. Its best feature is amazing stability and plough through effect. The better the player you are, the more I would recommend this one.
Minus= touch shots are harder and will take some adjustment due to the power of this racquet. That great plough effect I mentioned is not free. It comes at a swing weight of 340 or 25 grams higher than the microgel. It makes a big difference in feel and aides solid banging. But you have to be in shape to get around in a third set. That is the biggest negative with this racquet. But once you get used to it and have the game to wield it, the feeling of control is amazing.

In summary, play with both but the higher the level you play, the more I would recommend the K95 18x20. Also look at you game. If you are a banger, the K95 is your stick. If you like touch and feel and your motto is only hit the ball as hard as necessary the microgel might be the way to go. In case you hadn't noticed, they are probably my two favorite racquets.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

I went from the PDR, to the APDC, and finally settled on the MG Pro. It has lots of pop with its 16x19 pattern, but offers tons of control.
