help me get over tech/ getting a new racquet

I have a problem not being able to like/want a racquet because if it is not the newest racquet. I am past the stage where I want a racquet because aggasi uses it, I know a lot of racquets and their specs and what there good for. But I always mentally want a racquet that is newer, I kinda force myself to want it. When the flexpoint radical came out, I still liked my lm radical, but all of a sudden felt the urge to get a new racquet. I tried the fp radical tour and didnt like it because of its dense string pattern, but then tried the lm prestige mp and loved it so I bought it. Now, after a month of using my lm prestige mp and trying the fp radical tour mp I really like it, and my bro will buy me either another lm prestige mp or a fp radical tour if I do somethign really easy. But the problem is that if I got the fp radical tour I know I will only switch to using my lm prestige mp as a back up. I never used my i.radical when I had my lm radical expect when my strings broke, and I never use my lm radical now that I have my prestige.

uhh you want help getting over new tech? hit with a PC600 and then with a LM Prestige... the difference is huge but whether you like hte classic feel or teh new technology is personal preference. and most "new" technology that comes out is not really new. Flexpoint is just another attempt to revive head's trysys wutever wutever technology.

i don't really think you can get over new technology because you always want to try out what's new to see if it can improve your game. But many people (including me) on these forums think that teh classic racquets (without bs technology) provides a wayyy better feel. i for one can never resist trying out new racquets that come out because as i stated above, i wanna see if the new racquet is any different from it's predecessor.

i currently use an O3 Tour, and i feel that the O3 technology is one of teh most legit breakthroughs in a very very long while. but i will tell you that eventhough it is a very good racquet, i do not believe it beats the POG or PC600. But the thing about old racquets is that they deteriote as everything in the world does. so i feel, why not hit with a classic once in a while and cry because they don't make this racquet available to the public anymore and then go back to your trusty newer stick. either that or you could stick with the POG, it's been in production since the beginging of time or something.

I would love to try the PC600 but I dont know anywhere where I can try it. I will talk to a pro I have lessons with who is sponsered by head if he by anychance has it.

you lost me when you tried the FP Radical Tour...

just pick the racquet you play best with. forget about technology.

May I suggest seeing a qualified psychiatrist? ;) Use what you play the best with and what feels the best to you, even if that's a 20 year old, no tech racquet. What does what Agassi uses have anything at all to do with you? Are you planning to sub for him at the US Open?

The FP Radical Tour has a more open pattern than the LM Radical that you were using. The FP Radical Tour has a 16x19 pattern, whereas, the LM Radical has a 18x20 (MP) or 18x19 (OS).

I know that the fp radical tour has a open string pattern, but at that time I hated racquet with a open string pattern, but after trying it again I have changed my mind. I am thinking of buying the prestige classic 600 to try and help me see that I dont need the newest racquets.

Go with the LM Prestige so you can go crazy when the FP Prestige comes out...;) But yeah, you just gotta find the racquet that you think feels the best, and stick with that, you won't be disappointed.

Then why did you say that you hated it because of the "dense string pattern"?

Opps, my bad. I meant open string pattern  Do you guys think it is worth it to try and get the prestige classic 600? I am trying to find it cheap.

maybe you could get into the whole 'strings' thing. it would be way cheaper to change strigns each tiem you break them than to change racquets all the time.

I dont change racquets every time I break my strings. I just bought a reel of nrg2 and just got my lm prestige mp strung yesterday.
