How to make GPU passthrough to VMware?

I know we have very IT savvy people in this forum so I brought this subject here.
I have been using VMware workstation 12 on Windows 10 OS and there is no GPU passthrough to VM machines so it is so slow in VM and doing things take a long time. Some people may wonder why anyone use VM machine. VM machines are very convenient because they act as another computer inside of a computer. So you can do multi- task on one monitor and one computer.

I know now that Linux has ability to make GPU passthrough but I am not familiar with Linux and I have to stick with Windows OS as host.

I have bought a new AMD motherboard and planning to buy AMD CPU, Ryzen 7 3700x for this purpose.
What would be the best option to make GPU passthrough with this setup?

First option is to make it small home server with some server program: I think Ryzen 7 has capability to make a server system- someone correct me if I am wrong.

Second idea is installing Linux on Windows OS host in a different hard drive: I don't even know if this will work but just idea and I need your advice.

Please share your knowledge on this and advise me the best way to do.

You can use PlayOnLinux or Lutris for your VM's in linux. I'll have to look into it more.
