To practice my one hander again, which I gave up due to injury and prevention. I don't care, the spirit of Iron Stan is with me.

Some backstory, my onehander was awesome before I started the 2 hander....relatively... my 2 hander is also good, both are better than my forehand, which I am working with a lot right now. Fool's errand? Probably, but I don't care; I got the fever. Also, it might help me with my volleys.

At the rec level you play because you enjoy it. If you enjoy hitting 1hbh's more than 2hbh's, you will get more satisfaction sticking with it and improving it - even if it was somehow objectively measured that the 1hbh is definitely the technically inferior stroke.

As it is, we can't even really say for sure that the 1hbh actually is technically inferior to the 2hbh at the pro level, let alone the rec level, so just stick with what you like doing - you're playing tennis for fun after all.

well that didn't last long. My one hander is fun against the wall, but it took some serious hitting to make it painfully clear to me just how good my 2hander has gotten. I think I will let my one hander collect dust a while longer. 2hander wins me points and I never have to back up.

Work on improving the 2HBH. Once it is good you can use the 1HBH for slice only and to get used to transitioning to the net.

Yeah that's basically what I have been working on. I win more points when I hug the baseline (not behind it), try to take time away from my opponent, keep him running, and only come in on good approaches.

On a side not, my slice backhand is actually pretty good considering how little I practice it. Probably because I am comfortable hitting the ball with one hand on the racquet.
