Leather newb, still overlap when installing? Also TW leather questions

Do you overlap the leather grip the recommended 1/16" like TW recommends on their learning center or do you install leather with no overlap so it lies flat against the grip pallet?

I got sick of my grip slipping of the right bevel while serving today, I've been using Gamma Hi-tech in case you were wondering

What are the pros and cons of getting the TW leather wider or narrower grip besides ascetics. The TW website mentions a difference in feel but in what terms?

Also, any other pros and cons of TW's thinner or thicker grip besides possible more shock absorbing for the thicker grip with less bevel definition. But it seems the average replacement grip size seems to be around 1.5mm-1.6mm

does the grip your installing have beveled or tapered edges to overlap or not...if it does then i would overlap, otherwise you will have raised edges...and that will come down to personal taste...i dont like raised edges
