I'm looking for some advice about upgrading from a 15 year old Prince Graphite 90. I know that racket technology has progressed markedly since I bought the Prince Graphite and am interested in getting a new racket. I've read the review on Tennis.com regarding their recommendations (http://www.tennis.com/gear/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=61215&itype=1479), but am still unsure where to start. I play once or twice a week and would consider myself a recreational player.

Does anyone have advice regarding specific rackets that play like the Prince Graphite but are newer and lighter?

Any info would be appreciated.

If you are happy w/ your POG 90, stay with it. Don't think about newer racquets. All the good sticks are/ were made in the 80's. New techs are just gimmicks, they won't help your game.

I've play w/ my POG OS for 10 years, about a year ago I want to get something new. I've demo the NXG, Diablo and some of the TTs from Prince. The NXG and Diablo are good sticks but they didn't improve my game. They didn't give me good racquet feel as my POG OS. Then I try the POG MP(the newer version of yours), I was so regret that I hit w/ this lovely stick so late. My game improve a lots. By its lighter head, I can swing with faster head speed that I can generate tonnes of topspin in every shots. My biggest improvement is my 1HBH, also my slice and volley are much better by its manueverbility. Than of course, I purchase one. I'll play w/ it till I die.

Another example is one of my friend who hit w/ his MORE Approach for serveral yrs. One day I let him demo one of my old stick, the CTS Approach, made in 1988. He was so surprise that the CTS A is much better. Especially it is very arm friendly.(the CTS A is heavier, Lighter head, and more flex)

So, just like what I've said, all the good racquets were made in the 80's. New techs are just qimmicks. Stay with your POG 90. It is the best racquet ever!!
